I'm thinking about driving up in the 360 for the F1 race, do you guys have any kind of get togethers or meet up location for race weekend ? It would be nice to meet up with some of the Canada F-chatters. It will be mi first time to Montreal
What the heck kind of insurance is that? Your car gets damaged, the old parts have new parts replacing the old ones, and you have to take the whack in the wallet and buy new parts out of pocket? Is your insurance different in Canada? Because here they are supposed to get your car back to the condition it was before the accident happened. Heck, they should at least have paid for the 2 new shocks instead of making you pay for all 4.
The shop manager usually has leeway and if it is above and beyond or in this case unforseable because superceded adjoining parts need to be replaced; they call in the adjustor. The estimate is seldom locked-in unless it is a write-off. Now if the customer asks to replace existing parts for custom/performance parts while the techs are there, that's another story. As to the 2-4 shock story; Insurance will replace ONLY damaged part (same as warranty..defective) . If 2 shocks ( or rotors, or calipers, or ball joints, or CV joints) damaged, only 2 will be replaced, where in retail those are replaced in pairs. denis
Saw one pulled over on an hwy 40 onramp yesterday. Speaking of which, did anyone see the police presence by St-Marie off the 40 yesterday? There was a police shooting in the morning so they had to call in the SQ to sign off on the shooting. The response was ridiculous, they had THREE Sureté command post bus/RV things, about 2 dozen cars, several vans, and an SQ helicopter literally on the service road. Why couldn't they just send 2 detectives in a car and lower our taxes a bit?
For the record, it's TD insurance. Same thing for my brakes, but that one they'll pay for one of them. The sad part is that the dealer's insurance has already admitted fault and will pay back my insurance anyway.
I have to get rid of my M3 before the end of the month. Just in time for spring! 420HP 8400RPM V8 voted engine of the year 3 years in a row. Best powertrain I've ever had in a car and that includes Ferraris and my Gallardo. It's currently on lease for $965+tx a month. Ends Jan 28th 2012 with 78000km, currently has 49500km on the clock. Residual of $35k. I can also sell it for 48k. I have a little room to negotiate either way. It's a 2008 Sparkling Graphite E90, 6spd, dealer installed K&W suspension. Options: Metallic paint Premium sound High gloss pkg Extra Novillo black leather interior Tinted windows Ipod integration New winter tires, 30-40% left on summers, can throw in a new set to sweeten the deal. All regular maintenance is included like on all new BMWs. However I also purchased the extra maintenance package so your wipers, brakes, clutches, belts are also free. Please spread the word. It's a great deal whether you lease or buy. If I don't find someone in the next 2 weeks I'll have to return it to the dealer and it'll be everyone's loss, especially mine! Car is back at Audi Prestige for the rest of the mechanical stuff. Went to go look at the completed paint work and everything looks great. New diffuser is installed, just the wheel well liners are missing. A closer look revealed another plastic bit in the wheel well was broken and will also need replacing. #11 in the diagram. Would anyone be interested in an ice/snow driving event with 4 time WRC world champion Juha Kankkunen? Dunno, I just think that thing has horrid build quality, and it doesn't seem to have much engineering either with the fake diffusers. I doubt it's had any real aero development whatsoever. Anyone with a good eye that knows something about quality should see this.
They welded the frame today, looks great. Got to drive it a bit (making sure everything settled before alignment). Just a couple trim pieces now!

You drive not own eh? A photo shoot to commemorate the return of the car would be cool though We should get together, maybe go for a drive in the twisties up north.
