    Just got "the call"

The dealer will be Fiat of Westbury. About 10 miles from my house.
    She said 17-21 days.

LOL. Wow, you are thinking like an American. It means whatever you want it to be.
    It's probably like football minutes.

But seriously, I take it as calendar days.

Sat in a pearl white 500 Sport at the Toronto Auto Show and it was a real beauty!

Our local dealer (FIAT of Kirkland) has a demo car that they brought out to the Exotics @ Redmond Town Center event this past Saturday. I snapped a few shots of it. Can't say that I care for the color of the demo car, but would love to see it in Red, Blue, etc...

Regarding that eBay 500, it looks like the Ferrari mantra of "resale red" applies to Fiats, as well.

Check out the Abarth interior. I like it!

I don't understand the justification of spending thousands on a new car to save a few hundred bucks in gas each year.

Not that I am complaining as it might give me an opportunity to flip my 500. :)

Try explaining that to anyone paying $41,000 for a Volt!

You can buy 2 Fiat 500's and have enough gas money for years.

This morning I noticed a large sign on the vacant former Jeep dealership building announcing it'll be home of a new Fiat dealership. Its just a couple doors down from my office so will be stopping by often.

The dealer I talked to in December finally got their demonstrator - a red 500 Sport 5-speed pre-production model.

    Just drove the sucker.

    What a blast!

As mentioned by all, the fit and finish are outstanding for the price point.

The "Sport" button should be on all the time - it affects steering responsiveness.

I left a deposit to be first in line for an Abarth:

Great! If you like the Sport, you will love the Abarth. They should be in next year.

Got a Second call from Fiat, now Hartford is going to deliver my Prima instead of Larchmont, not surprising, I hope we are just practice for the rest of the regular car........

    Yep, same article ends with:

I guess other "good news" is that with the slow dealer openings that means those that do have dealers will have more inventory to choose from for non-Prima buyers.

Smacking my hand to my forehead... DUH!!!!

I just realized how smart Fiat USA marketing is...

How about getting 500 units out in the field to show the public our new car.
How about each of them PAYING US for our advertising.

Makes more sense to have the public (the enthusiat first adopter) pay Fiat to market their cars instead of Fiat paying to advertise through all the available media, while the dealer network and infrastructure is built. Less expensive than a 30 second Super Bowl commercial and profitable to boot! and the dealer makes some pocket change in the process as well.

No cash outlay for exposure to reach millions of people who'll see the car, and money in the bank.

The "enthusiast" is being used. Fiat is exploiting their desire to be the first of the "exclusive" owners and making bucks instead of outlaying advertising cash.

    Very Very smart Fiat!

    JD
