308 / 328 with different wheels ? Post pics pls !

The 348 wheels on the 328 look better than expected. Considering that they are 1/2 the price of 355, 360, or 550 wheels, it seems like a reasonable item. Plus, the size 7.5"W front, 9"W back make fitment easier. The others either require wheel mods or front wheels at all 4 corners. What are your front and rear tire sizes?

 

We both know I can't help myself. I need to keep repeating, "Focus, Bret. Focus."

I already started planning out the next steps - excessively large brakes, 18" wheels, and suspension. I promised myself that I wont buy anything though until the car is at least running again.

 

if you get the notion to start machining, count me in for a set..

Like the look w. Kinesis ones in that color.

I was thinking about changing my wheels previously, but decided to keep my Gold BBS ones that came with the car. Since the car is Marrone, it looks good. Its always amazing to me how many things I (we as people) want to change when we get new toys (Cars, house interiors, etc) and then once we live with them - you see it kind of looks good as is.

With that said, some cars here look killer w. up-graded wheels.

Although I certainly prefer stock 16 s, those are perfect to my taste. I'm surprised that they are already somewhat dissed! I love 'em! (kinesis K27 in 17)

Totally agree.

With all due respect to the owners who have posted on this thread I cannot see any aesthetic improvement over the standard 308/328 wheels.

I really don't think you can beat the 14" Dino or Ferrari 5 star original alloy wheels on these 20+ year old cars. Sorry.

 

It's all about what you're aiming for.

The original 5 spoke's are a beautiful design and would really beat if they had come in more suitable sizes, weight and track ability. But.... they don't and that's why they are kept on my shelf and stay there as the winner of the beauty contest.
As far as aestethics go, I'm using these Gotti's because they are period correct.

(Leaving aside changing out TRX's to 225/205s on 16" rims)

The answer (I think) is that if you've made significant upgrades to brakes, suspension & increased the power as well then you might need to go for some bigger wheels & wider, lower profile boots.

Otherwise the benefits from them are almost entirely cosmetic (and some would say those benefits are entirely negative!!) .

There is also an argument that says you can put too much tyre under a 308/328 which may not be beneficial to its ride & handling at all (and in the process over-stress some of the suspension components too).

 

Just running the Brembo Gran Turismo kit and drilled Brembo disks in the back. Brembo was kind enough to let me order the kit with the Ferrari logo. (thought it was a nice touch)

I wish I was better with Photoshop, because what I'd like to see is the original design of the 16s simply scaled-up to 17s. If it's worthwhile, then a custom job may be in order. If they're really good, business opportunity!

I haven't checked if there's a tire-thread yet, but are there any objections to 225/45-17 front, 255/40-17 rear? Is there a better combo?
