You have good taste in picking a 458 (similar to mine) :)
Other than the color of the brakes, a pretty close match.

You can see pics of my car in the "My Garage" link on my post header.

Is your exterior color Nero or Nero Daytona? Mine is the latter (metallic black).

Congrats. The 458 is such an amazing performance car.

Thanks for all the great replies!

I decided to take the car for another ride today. But first I spent about 20 mins activating the SAT radio (which sounds great).

I had read on another thread that there are controls on the back of the steering wheel...I have to say...if I hadn't read that...I doubt I ever would have found them!! So thanks to whoever that was. It makes changing stations and media so much easier.

I'm still struggling with some of the electronics though and hopefully it will get easier each time. I'm really into techy stuff...I have loads of gagets and often figure out solutions to problems that stump IT depts...yet this car is still getting the best of me!

So first I decided to see how the car would do in traffic. Where I live there is no shortage. I drove down towards my local mall...even filthy...the car gets so much attention I thought some people would lose control of their cars.

So as I was driving around...the thought started to creep ever so softly into my brain...is this car too gentile for me?? Is a Ferrari now a soft-ish GT car? I trudged through the traffic and more and more thought that this car is nearly as comfortable as the Bentley. Is this a good thing?? Hitting the floppy paddles seemed superfluous and at that point I turned the car towards home mildly dejected.

I filled up the gas tank and said...it's time to push this thing a bit. Then it happened...the engine roar that was here again gone again while driving around town was building into a crescendo of madness...the sound, the vibration...enveloping me...the shifts became more and more vicsceral and then I noticed something...I was sweating...my heart racing...it was almost dreamlike.

I came to a stop and literally needed a few seconds to compose myself...heart still racing.

So now I know...this car is the real deal.

It will rack up miles like no other car in my "stable". It will be the go to car.

Soft and relaxed in traffic...a wild, pent up beast that has just been released when you go for it.

    I'm in love.

Here's a few more pics...I include some of the other cars I was moving around...I know personally I never get enough of looking at cars!

Very nice car! Just a tip: I would be very paranoid about those shovels and lawn tools hanging in the garage over my car... ask me how I know. lol, I had to rearrange the garage after I got my Viper.

Tell me about your Cobra, what's powering it, and how does it compare the 458? a 427 side-oiler alum. body Cobra is my dream car.

I totally agree! I had moved them after I got the car...then my wife put them back! I'll set her straight.

The Cobra is a Superformance (factory built in South Africa under license from Shelby). I have a Roush 427 in it with a Tremac TKO600. So you get the look of the original but with modern chassis and drive train.

It's very hard to compare the two cars. They are so incredibly different. The Cobra scares the pants off me every time I drive it. High horsepower, short wheel base and no electronics at all! So no electronics and only lap belts...keeps your attention for sure.

The cobra is loud as heck (no mufflers)...after driving it I stink of gasoline and can't get the smile off my face.

You feel incredibly connected to the driving experience in the cobra...if you put your arm out the car you can nearly touch the pavement as it goes by. I guess it's the closest you can get to the feel of a motorcyle with 4 wheels. I love it! But totally different experience compared to the 458.

The Nero/Cucio combo is fantastic! Love the CF door panels. Wow. 997 turbo and a Cobra. Nice work.
