I hear you...it's not the most attractive super car but the looks, except for the fish mouth front IMHO are OK.
I'm 6' 5", it's a concern for me. All the reports I have read say the cabin is spacious, and Mclaren have designed the cabin to be suitable for people up to 6' 7" tall. Time, and actually getting to drive it, will confirm whether this is true or not.
I'm 6'5" at 210lbs. Mp412C is very comfy and ergonomically perfect for my size although not as roomy as the 458 is (no space behind the seats like in a Ferrari, just the engine wall almost touching the seatback)
I know, it sounds idiotic, but it's the truth. I was kinda on the fence, but Clarkson's enthusiasm and joy swayed me.
Thanks for the link! I still don't understand this car. Fast is one thing - and I'm not talking about "soul" or "passion" - but, there's just something missing.... Make you wonder if the test car was modified.
I think it's the car's size and it's conservative styling. If it were a little bigger, and a little more aggressively designed then it'd be better than a 458 to most people (i personally think it's a better car). The only way i'll buy over a 458 is IF i was looking for a daily driver. I think this might be the BEST daily driver in the world.
Nice review from Harris here... http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/planetevovideos/265420/new_mclaren_mp412c_video.html
probably yes. And I like the somewhat understated looks. Much more than, lets say, the look-at-me shapes of the Aventador (but that is Lamborghini for ya).
Most people in the US havent did even care about or follow Formula One racing...they have no clue who or what McLaren is ....
Out of the three, I'd rate them: 1. McLaren 2. Ferrari 3. Lamborghini So, this is a highly subjective summary. All the best, Andrew.
Well, that makes one! Actually, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone's opinon is the correct one for themselves.
It's such a shame. It's obviously an astonishing car to drive but then they blew it so badly on the styling. Still, none of us should be surprised that it looks so tedious when it comes from a company that says it can prove its car is the best in the world by showing you a graph and a spreadsheet.
On the other hand, Ferrari is so full emotion, that it had no trouble producing such knock-outs as Scaglietti or FF. Even F430 was not such a great looking car. I don't think the connection is as simple as you make it out to be.
I thought we were talking about two seat sports cars? BTW: I'd take my F430's styling ANYDAY over the Mac. Anyday. If you can't see that, there's no point in discussing this issue.
Aww, don't get soft on us now, bdelp! But, since we are still taking pot shots, here is my summary of the Italia's front view. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No, we were talking about two different companies and what their pedigree means for their design language.
