Ive seen it on the registry too. Its probably VIN #0892 with engine #0890 a car which started his career as a bleu notte in Italy. Beside the information from the registry Ive never seen any further information about the car.
I was wondering about that, Kevin, since it seems to have left the factory as LHD -- so converted in Australia? I know there were shops in England converting as well. Fred
Fred, the car was discussed last year on VLG and the conversion was probably done in 1970-1971. The interior picture above shows that the handbrake is still on the passenger side!
working thru Marelli rebuild and upgrade - http://www.vintagelamborghini.com/vlgforum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=29694&start=130 anyone have sources for pins, cups, and springs? S85 series Marelli Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Craig, I remember discussing this with GTCP -- and they said all the Miura tuners basically had springs they would cut to get different advance curves. So it's kind of a trial/error using a Sun Distributor Machine. Just thought I'd throw that out there Fred
Has anyone installed the MR-1123 Pertronix kit in their dual S85 Marelli Lamborghini? 350, 400, 2+2, Miura, Countach, Espada, Jarama........?? Image Unavailable, Please Login
good trunk carpet shot: http://www.400gt.com/misc/!Bd!1y+w!mk~$(KGrHqQOKiQEq47YWg4UBK2-iCoyfw~~_3.jpg
Hi Fred, this looks like an ebay photo! Are there more you can send me or post? Yes, these appear original with hinge on right panel, pins on left, metal grommets, riveted pull tab, bound carpet Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ah...maybe it is. This is 1354 (I think) -- the last 400GT2+2 made. That was the only carpet shot. You mean you want the other photos of the car? (which was in pieces) Fred
Special bolts required in the clockwise flywheel holes for 350, 400, Islero, Espada, Jarama. A close look at the flywheel will confirm this for anyone involved in clutch work. So two different type bolts required! Some details on 400 at - http://www.vintagelamborghini.com/vlgforum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=29694&start=220 Clutch pressure plate is match marked to flywheel as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I mostly done with body work on my 400gt and I am now down to a few details such as gaping, lines etc... Can someone tell me how close is the upper door jam trim to the edge of the roof line?I have seen as much as 1/8" gap.Could someone take a photo of theirs? I am trying to figure out if I should get mine near the roof line or keep a gap. Thanks for your help! Here are a few photos of the work in progress. http://s106.photobucket.com/albums/m274/maseratisource/lambo4000259/?start=all Thanks Jacques
Hi Jacques, Nice work! I don't have my car in front of me...but here's a photo: http://www.400gt.com/misc/DSCN6116c.jpg I think "really close" is one answer, so I'm thinking 1/8" is about right, maybe less. But also notice how it flows into the rear "wind-wing" side window. So it seems like maybe that could help guide you? Cheers, Fred
It seems that the valve/cam covers on most if not all 400GTs were painted black (textured / wrinkle finish). But what about 350GTs? From all the pics I've looked at half are black and half are silver - what is period correct?? -mick
Fom VLG, a fellow informs us about the sale of VIN #0412 next 2nd April at Bordeaux France... Image Unavailable, Please Login
you're welcome... I have few others... Which spark plug brand and type are you using for a 350 GT ? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've never worked on a 350, not sure which spark plug they use. On my 400GT 2+2 I'm running Bosch Super Cu-Electrode W 7 DC, 0-241-235-602-80U, 7500, gapped to .032.
I am just curious as to how many 400gt came equipped with dual wipers?Anyone on the forum with such a rare breed? Jacques
From what I can tell dual wipers was for American Federalizing. Which is weird, because my car has a single wiper and is a Kaplan (US) car. ie: it's a mess.
well, I agree it's a mess as there is no reasonnable explanation... but Paolo Stanzani told me in fact some suppliers produces more than ordered by factory... than the overstocks have been eliminated progressivly through the production... like the body valence with one single wiper instead of 2... Yes I'm confirming you that bodypanels were pre-formed and then adjusted on each Superleggera shelf !!!
I am currently in need of photos showing the rubber bump stops under the hood and trunk of a 400gt.just want to make sure I am using the correct rubber. thanks jacques
