I shoot American trap 2-3 times a week, and will switch to shooting Olympic trap mid this month! The hope is a bid for the 2016 Rio Olympics, I've shot scores that are just below Olympic levels, and the hope is that I can improve and make it to the Olympics. It's gonna be an adventure!

I'm currently in high school and in Los Angeles. I'm home-schooled so that has really allowed me to pursue this dream.

No fair Austin.. you have an advantage. Shotgun use is a survival skill in LA. ;)

Actually good luck man, when I was about 13 I learned that the Olympics had an air rifle competition. I woke up every morning at 5 am and would shoot for 2 hours before school and I'd come home after school and shoot for another hour. - And I did that for like 3 years.

I had VERY good scores and probably could have made the Olympic team pretty easily. Sadly, my folks had no way of paying for me to travel to competitions much less compete at that level. I've always wondered what how my life would have been different if I had been able to go.

If you ever need help of some kind with your dream, PM me, I'll do my best to help you. (sorry for the threadjack)

I have a small coin collection.
Also have a pretty good bunch of baseball hats
Not to mention a growing shot-glass collection.
I have a few watches but I wouldn't really call it a collection.

I collect ancient Roman coins with a few Greek sprinkled in. I mostly focus on MarK Antony and his family and the Flavian Emperors (Vespasian, Titus and Domitian). Here's a link to all my coins:

    http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/index.php?cat=18312

My Latest coin, a Roman Republican coin minted in 54 BC by none other than Julius Caesar's assasin Marcus Brutus. The Godess Libertas (Liberty) on the obverse, Brutus with Lictors on reverse.

The second one is a portrait of Mark Antony, on the reverse Octavian later known as Augustus.

The 3rd the Emperor Vespasian commemorating the distruction of Jerusalem and it's temple in 70 AD by his son Titus.

    Too cool!

I've always admired ancient coins but figured I'd buy fake one if I tried to collect them.

Thanks! It's true there are a lot of fakes out there but once you see real ones it becomes easier to tell the difference. Most people think ancients are expensive but some can be had for $10 and under, decent silver denarii can be around $50-$100 and of course the rare and sought after can be in the hundreds of thousands! There is a price point for everyone.

I also collect 1:18 Ferraris which have been moved into the garage surrounding the real 1:1 Ferrari :D

    Interesting about the denarii.

IIRC, a denarii was ~a day's wages for a regular worker; might still be true at 50-100 bucks!
