Hello to anyone who can assist. My employer has a new California. His routine driving is short at about 10 miles round trip. He travels and therefore the car will sit for a few weeks at a time. What is the recommended driving milegae and realistic speed, freeway? that we should look at. I know with some other cars, BMW 700 series we drive them twice a month for a miniumn of 30 minutes at freeway speeds to put on about 25 to 40 miles and usually use the highest octane gas.I do not think that this car will get more then 3000 miles a year. thanks

Hi, Bill, thanks for joining Ferrari Chat!

As a new member, I will offer you my services at a discount. Simply send me a key to the vehicle along with access to its garage and I will see that it is exercised, regularly and properly. You will receive a monthly invoice for my service plus fuel expenses.

    Welcome!

You should give the car an Italian tune up at least once a month to keep the valve seats clean and the oil moving. Use fuel stabilizer if the car sits for over a month or two also. Short trips will cause lots of water to build up in the exhaust and the engine oil. Not good. Make sure you have the car running at operating temp for at least 15 minutes to evaporate the moisture that builds up.

I wouldn't worry about it. It has a warranty and whatever problems may arise the dealer will fix. If it were me I would treat is as a normal car because its so new. I know there will always be bugs regardless of age, but just drive it a little to keep the battery charged and fluids moving. And tell him to drive it the way its supposed to be!

Thanks for some of the replys. I do believe that the most logical answer so far was from maestro8. I think I will send him the keys and the address so he can "just stop by" and check on the car. I DON'T THINK SO!!. Thanks people.
