What kind of tubing is it? I've installed a roll cage for my 4x4 and bolted it to the frame, I wonder on can you bolt/weld the cage down the frame on a 308.

the front top bar will give you trouble, you should move it closer to the front glass.

you might consider adding a horizontal bar at the corners near shoulder height. it will triangulate the main hoop and provide a mount for the shoulder harness. should be able to pick up considerable stiffness with this adder.

Just for the record. i did not make it myself but it was made and is certified by Sparco in Italy. For the seatbelts i will ad an additional bar behind the cage using the original mouting points.

Looks good Steven , safety first, all cars should have a roll bar or roll cage IMO.

Steven, you know the judges are going to deduct serious point from the cage right :D
Anyway, are you planning to do some serious racing?

That and I suggest he float the seat mounts to the roll cage for the same reason. Too easy for the seat to pull that floor apart and get strangled or injured by the belts. Keep the body and the belts tied to the same/strongest part of the compartment.

This is required by everybody now, as far as I know. It's just good practice.

Might be good for a mounting point but would do nothing for stiffness
