Time: 8AM - ??? Date: Saturday March 19th Place: The Grove in Shrewsbury (near Starbucks) We have not done this since last November so let's get the cars out and set the tone for more frequent meetings. I hope to see you a lot of you there this weekend. Scott
Can you supply the exact address of where you are meeting so I can Mapquest it? If the weather is nice, I might shoot over there. I really need to drive someplace... Kirk
Sure thing, the Grove is a shopping center in Shrewsbury, NJ and there is a Starbucks among the stores. The address is: 597 Route 35 Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 There is a Grove II on the southbound side of Hwy 35 - opposite the Grove. You want to be at the Grove which is the larger shopping center (although both are relatively small). The more the merrier! I'll be sure to say "hello" if you come down, I've been up to Chatham probably 5 times or so and we've never met. Thanks and regards, Scott
To mirror my comment on the other thread - I'll be there with my '66 E-Type and my 7 year old daughter. I am thinking my father-in-law will show up with his 80's Jag XJS. Come on out people - let's make this a big event!
Trying to get my brother to bring his '61 'Vette. This car was my Dad's, and we used to drive it as teens, a real fun car.
The Volt is f'ing cool. Trust me. The Noble-owner from the last Red Bank C&C had a blast in it. I'll have my 22 mo old daughter with me too. She loves cars but the 360 is so loud it scares her.
The weather forecast has improved for tomorrow so the chance of rain showers intervening has been minimized - if not removed altogether. See you there!
Yes, weather now looks good so I should be there. I'll bring either the Daytona or the Countach. See you. Kirk
hey guys, would it be cool if i came out to take some shots? Got a new DSLR to take shots of my newborn daughter and figured I could give her a break and shoot cars again! lol...
I really don't think anyone will mind. I bring my camera up to Chatham all the time and will have it with me tomorrow - you never know when something really cool will show up.
How well do you know this area? We are going to be shooting in the Caribbean and were thinking about heading out to the shore to run some tests. Do you know what area has the most tropical look? Nice beach? Lots of green? I know it's a stretch but the closer it is to the actual environment(Caribbean) the better.
I'M busting you totally, since your 360 is extremely nice. I am happy to see people show up - see you there!
I am from the area. In terms of tropical - that's tough to say. You could try Long Branch by the pier - I think they truck in palm trees in the summer. Same with Point Pleasant. For the most part - the water here is gray / brown. You won't get too much in terms of clear, but the beaches are by no means disgusting. Give it a shot - especially in the summer.
Hi all - just want to say what a great time I had, and there was a good showing of cars. Kirk brought his '73 Daytona - what a beauty! Continuing our tradition of mystery drive bys - there was a black Gallardo that went racing past, but didn't come in. Maybe for the next one we do, we can spread the word locally - would love to get this up to 100+ cars if possible!
Thanks for coming out everyone... it was great to see familiar faces as well as some new additions. I didn't realize it but I had my camera switched to a setting that resulted in some really cr*ptastic pictures. Here are some that I could semi-salvage! Thanks! Yeah...ESPECIALLY in the summer right? Man it was too cold even for my wetsuit. You need a full dry suit for today. I think I got to ankle deep or so. Brrrr....
Yeah that antisocial Galada! lol. Hanging out in first gear as he flies by just to say, hey guys...my car is better than yours! You just wait till an Aventador joins the group. Then we won't even hear the Gallardo go by anymore. Nothing but V12 music!
Thanks. What was that red car with the propeller-spoke-rims(made up term)? It was like a bicycle spoke rim with a mini propeller in the center. Parked next to Kirk's Ferrari.
Yes, that was my '66 E-Type - parked next to Kirk's Ferrari Daytona...that was a cool experience for me!
