thanks, I downloaded the issue on Zinio but it doesn't contain the supplement :(
Hopefully it will be included in the hard copy when it arrives at our newsstands.
Anything new or noteworthy to report from the contents?

Has anyone seen pictures or an actual car in the "Graphite Grey" color? Is it the color I have circled in green on the attached picture?

    It it metallic?

If you have any pictures of a Graphite Grey 12C, please post them.

    Thanks!

Yes, that is Graphite Grey. Check page 2 of this thread, there are a couple of pics. Also, a Graphite Grey has been photographed extensively inside the WTC, I think, alongside an F1. I will try to find the link for you.

    Are you spec'ing a 12C order?

EDIT: here is the link, replace the asterisks in the URL with "*********" : http://www.*********.com/forums/supercars/43423-mclaren-mp4-12c-picture-thread-27.html

    p.s. yes it is metallic.

True. However judging from various reviews, the car still has very strong grip in the wet so I guess being developed in a wet climate is good for something. Good for me too as despite my best efforts, perhaps 1/2 of my track days are raining for at least part of the day.

I really hope they found a dry day for the official Top Gear lap, tho, so we can see the new stiggy really go for broke. :)

I'm not sure if we've found a good representative of "fire black,' but I saw a volvo in something called 'amber black' and it looked brown. I can't really tell what fire black will look like in direct light. The above samples make me think it could still come off looking brown, but maybe less so than the amber brown.

No track pack till MY 2013. Most likely cannot be retrofitted.

nice article, ive upgraded several 911 turbos in the past and got away with it (warranty),this is one im going to pass on,i think they have spent so much time matching the torque curve/ssg/handling i think more power/torque could actually slow the car down, look at high power upgrades from porsche specialists, they are ok in a straight line but they are generally slower round a track than a factory upgrade

What is included in the track pack? Cameras, sensors? I've never seen any official documentation on what is included.

My dealer tells me to assume that they cannot be retrofitted. It might change as things come closer to fruition, but don't bet on it.

Cameras, accelerometer, GPS lap timer (should be just a software issue).

I keep checking this thread and the "other" thread many times a day. I am so tired of waiting. I want to see the car!! I want to drive it!! When are demo cars coming?

I don't know if I can wait for winter when the car finally gets here!

the other option is to do what i have before the mags get their hands on it ,and the world gets really interested, put another order in for 18 months/2 years,no garantees but i think there is a good chance you will get most of your money back on your first as there will still only be 1500 world wide compared to maybe 6000/7000 458,s
Also its only a letter of intent and they have made it plain that they want to keep customers and keep up residuals

sorry to piss you off,i get my first drive on 7th april at Dunsfold (topgear) by special invite for the first few before the dealers get their demonstrators in may,I have alot of questions to ask but might get carried away by the occasion as we get 1hour in the car on track
and road and there are only 18 of us on the day.so i assume they will have the 3 cars they took to portimoa,i will take plenty of pics if im aloud,in the past thats not been the case.but i will have to get my daughter to post them as i am a dork with computors, maybe even a video if thats possible.not too many sleeps now!!!

Looks like it will be over several days, as I'm there on the Friday (only 17 days and counting!).
    I can't wait either.
It may be like the launch at MTC, a different day for each of the three UK dealers.

I do not think that the exhaust manifolds on the rolling chassis are production pieces. The engine pix on mclaren show a fully cast manifold and turbine housing, not a bolted up turbo. These complete manifold/turbine housings eliminate the bolted flange, save weight, reduce problems, and improve flow. Most, all that I know, new OEM turbo motors are using this one piece design. It means you cant just slap a new turbo on as easily but you can mill the housing and use different turbine wheels. On the road course I think that the fat torque band will win the day and any mods need to ensure that it stays in tact.

This manifold is way different. http://files.conceptcarz.com/img/McLaren/2011-McLaren-MP4-12C_Image-e01-1680.jpg

Sounds great, definitely envious, we don't even get to see one in the flesh ...... note not drive..... until May here in Australia, drivable demo not until Oct/Nov.

I concur with others here, please lots of photos/videos & I look forward to yours & others comments after the drive :)
