Let's see who has a sharp enough eye to tell which of these is real and which is not. :) (Idea for thread and all photos are courtesy of another user.)

By "replica haters" I'm guessing I was one of the targets.

I do see authentic Porsche badges on all of them, which no longer means what it once did.

My issue with replicas/fakes/"tributes" is philosophical, not technical.

Whatever you own, own the real article. There is no shame in not owning something you admire, and it is a mark of great character to appreciate and admire something without owning it.

yeowch!!! sorry for the insult... how do i reply to that..i will eventually....so i will continue....the commonality is that all these cars were one owned by yours truly...#1 was 550-0048 when recently for sale in the uk [for HUGE bucks]...#2 is a replica made by me a few years ago referring to my old car for details, #3,4 is 550-0048 in 1970 when i owned it and drove it on the street...[old photos sent to me by a friend i haven't seen in decades]....# 5 is 550-0048 winning it's class at le mans with zora arkus-duntov driving.

the funny thing is if you read the simon kitson ads for the car...it was "lost" in america from the 60's till the 80's when bat masterson "found" it....i was the missing owner. oh the tales i could tell.

Kudos on owning and driving the Porsches. I have never driven a 550, though I have seen many in action at Monterey and Coronado.

As for the replica, obviously I would have gone a different path, probably buying another vintage racer/sports car with a good history.

But you already knew what my response would be.
