I feel bad for the designers and team's crew who worked their butts off, but the fact remains that the team and the people who run it is a joke. Do your job and get some sponsors; don't rely on the drivers to do so. Don't participate in the highest level of motor racing in the world if you don't show up to compete. HRT is the equivalent of NASCAR's "start and park" racers. Being 9ish seconds off the pace of the leaders is a joke and an embarrassment to yourself and the credibility of F1. Go to the minors, kids. In fact, maybe the minors to the minors, where their laptimes and budgets would actually be competitive.

Only part I would say is wrong is that McLaren weren't sandbagging :) I think the car was genuinely off-pace, but they managed to turn it around at the last minute with a herculean engineering effort, and good on them for it.

It definitely looks like RBR is way out in front, (make that way waaay out in front), but remember how much the other teams gained last year - I think they will catch up in 4 or 5 races. Renault and Mercedes are factors too - they are in it to win it, and I imagine will be doing what they can to pick up their pace. I think it's easier to catch up to someone else than it is to make ground when you're already in first, because those playing catch-up have the benefit of looking at the faster cars to see where they need to improve.

Best quote from Q. "He had an accident. He just didn't hit anything".

    VJ on Sutil?

He was very, very lucky...... I reckon we may see a few more along the same lines - "I was trying to get rid of the drag just a tiny bit early, sorry!......"

    Cheers,
    Ian

    As I remember yes.

He wasn't the only one to be caught out by the wing. I wonder if more testing time might have helped.

I agree that it looks like RB/SV are going to easily run away with the WDC and Constructor's Championship, however a lot can change during the course of the long season. I would not be surprised to see Ferrari come on strong as the season progresses(especially FA) and make a run for at least the WDC. Although, it may just be wishfull thinking on my part...

There have been many seasons in the past where the balance of power has shifted dramatically mid-season. I cannot see RB continuing to be this dominant all season, the other teams will close the gap.

It is very interesting to watch the dominance of SV. If his car is indeed the same as MW's, we may be witnessing the next Shumi, Senna... What are the chances of Ferrari signing SV next season?

    11) I'll be drunk off some beer you send my way :)

Very disappointing qualifying...expected much more out of Ferrari and Benz. I knew McLaren was going to be fast after practice, the new upgrades really worked for them. Will be an interesting race though! Forza Ferrari!

Ah yes, Eric Broadley's ill-fated, MasterCard funded effort that drove Lola into bankruptcy...

Sospiri and Rosset were well over 107% in Melbourne also, possibly the last two prior to our HRT friends to DNQ....;)

Zero.... he just re-signed with RBR for a few more years. Also, there is no way Alonso would ever again drive with someone who is better than him. He did it before and he didn't like it, so it's a cinch it'll never happen again.

Gonna be a long year for everyone but Red Bull; they are head and shoulders above everyone...obviously. I wonder how Ferrari feels about having there asses handed to them by an energy drink maker/company...again.

Should become fun if Alonso gets by JB.
