Took the stock tach out and changed it to one that adds alittle interest to the dash. The lights on the right are shift lights. You can program at what rpm they come on. It looks great at night when it is lite up. Fits the stock hole but will make a thin small metal washer to mount under the front lip because the stock hole and the tach bezel diameter are almost the same. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can you replace the face with one from an F car tach? I like the yellow like the 430's. Didnt know if the tach faces were available? Was it a straight plug in or did you have to make a new harness and cable? Nd
Do need to put different connectors on the wires but use the same harness. Different face is not available. I tried that first but could not find anyone who would do it.
Couple of questions for you: Is that a carbon fiber overlay sheet on top of the black instrument panel? Did you have to remove that instrument panel to do the job? My panel is scratched and I want to remove it to refinish it but don't know how.
It is not an overlay. Valence made a whole new instrument bin with carbon fiber front. They also did a whole new radio-insturment panel and full carbon fiber console.
Yeah, I really don't need the gauge turned since it has the shift light built into the gauge that flashes at redline,so I might turn it back at some point.
Looks good. like your creativity but having it turned sideways drives me crazy just looking at it. looks like must have came off a sports bike...that's some crazy rpm! guess would match up well with an F1 car.
I used to have a 930 and alot of guys rotated their tachs and the Porsche race cars did. Have not made up my mind to keep it turned or not. Easy to just rotate the guage.
hey its your car! do whatever you like, but just keep the wheels moving!!! assuming your car matches the yellow tech? love to see photos of it
I like it that way too. Needle straight up at redline. Can see with peripheral vision without having to quickly look down.
Looks like straight up is 9500 RPM. In the military helicopter pilots would sometimes turn all the gauges so that normal all pointed the same way. Easy way to pick up something that's not right. Of course there's quite a bit more to look at...
