Has anyone had a 458 delivered from the factory with Michelin SuperSports or seen a 458 using Michelin Supersports?

Mine came with Bridgestone. My car is 2011. Are 2011 models suppose to come with Michelin?

You can specify Bridgestone, Pirelli or Michelin. The Michelin Pilot Sport 2 previously were supplied when you specified Michelin, but, the new SuperSport Michelins that are standard on the GTO are supposed to be coming on the 458. Michelin claims they are significantly improved. I am trying to find out if they've started equiping Michelin specified cars with SuperSports.

I just finalized my 458 Spec yesterday. All it said was Michelins. No indication of PS2's vs. PS2's supersports.

I placed my order about 3 weeks ago and Modis asked for what tires I wanted. You can also specify no preference.

My dealer told me the same. U can only spec Michelin or pirelli. As far as I know, the Michelin spec still gets the ps2, which in my opinion are not as good as the pirellis.

The first links shows Michelin's launch of the Super Sport tire on the 458 at the GP track in Dubai.

The second link was forwarded to me in another post and shows Tire Rack test of Michelin SuperSport. Sorry for repeat if you've seen them before. Both videos highlight the improvements over current tires on the 458.

The question is; when will we be able to have them on our 458's???

Tire Rack has the Super Sport in 255/35 ZR 20(Front) and 315/35 ZR 20(Rear). Has anyone tried them on the 458? This seams to be the best fit for the 458

TireRack says availability begins on 15 April last time I looked. So far the GTOs are the only cars reported delivered with them.

Doesn't look like the tire sizes shown at tire rack for the SuperSports or Pirelli Corsa work on the 458 and yet Michelin shows pictures of them testing the SuperSports in Dubai on their web site. Great car average tires so far. The Mclaren acelerates two tenth's faster to sixty just changing the tires to Corsas from the cars standard Pirellis. I also beleive the Scudi's great performance is partially due to the better Corsa tires. IMO the easiest and most effective performance enhancement are great tires!

As is the case with just about any car, tires are just about the best money spent on a car to make it faster.

My 458 was delivered in Feb. 2011 with PS2 (I hoped for the PSS).

For track, I have some Pirelli Trofeo in 19" (on HRE wheels).

I have read the Michelin Supersports release date will be April 15th in the US. You would think Ferrari would start installing them on 458 any time now. Has anyone had a car delivered in the last month and do they have Supersports?

On the subject of tyres, this may prove interesting for those of you with 458's. A friend of mine got his 458 in Sept last year fitted with Michelins and so far has done 4 track events and the tyres are holding up very well, has been through two sets of rear brake pads and one set of front brake pads. These Michelins definately seem to be track durable and the times he is doing are better than the ones he did in his Scud.

My point being the standard Michelins are superb!

Sorry, but I totally disagree with you.

Friends of mine who got a 458 and often run on tracks are not happy with their standard Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (20"):
    - the tyres get used very very quickly
    - the tyres are not good enough for hard brakings.

And because the wheels are in 20", you can't put some Michelin Sport Cup or Pirelli Corsa.

That's why I'm pretty sure that the Michelin Pilot Super Sport will be better for tracks in 20".
And that's why I have ordered some 19" wheels in order to put some Pirelli Trofeo for tracks.

The latest 458's to arrive at my dealer still have Michelin PS2's. The GTO's come with the Michelin Super Sports. Don't know when the 458's will flip.

Well I can just report this car on this particular track there are lots of variables that could lead to higher tyre wear, for example pressure and suchlike but I am impressed with the wear pattern considering the times he is doing.

Would be interesting to see how the car would run with full slicks.....

In the Ferrari Official Magazine #12 it states Ferrari opted for Michelin Supersport for a blend of road and track anf shows the tire on a458 rim. Strange their not delivering cars with the optimum tire for enthusiasts who like to track their car and yet also want great wet/dry street perfomance.
