    Tillman, love what your doing.

I see you are searching for the Thema intake manifold and pitching the CIS. I talked to someone on this forum from the UK about locating one for me but I have not heard back from him. He said that they are starting to become hard to find. I gave up waiting and bought some motorcycle TB. Looks like they will work out great but certainly not a bolt on manifold.

Anyway, back to the subject. I have the side louver mod, custom rear valence for that Euro look and plan on getting my top painted. I have always thought of removing that spoiler just to see what it would look like. 20 minutes later and here is the result. Thanks for the push!!

Bill, thanks for the words. I'm glad I can help inspire folk (although I doubt many will follow the next mod!)

I'd love to chat with you about the ITBs, I've been thinking GSXR TBs and Megasquirt for a while now....

Looks very GTBish! It would look even moreso if you painted the B-pillar black. Is that something you would consider?

I agree the B pillar should be black. You could probably cover it with some kind of tape, rather than paint the thing. Forgive my poor p-chop skills, but....

Yes, I've used this before (and on my current daily driver). Go to a shop that makes signs and get some black vinyl tape. They usually have 5 or 6 shades of black. It is applied like window tint (spray bottle and a little soap). This way you can black it out and if you want to go back just peel it off. Beatiful job on everything you've done.

    Hi there.

Board sponsor Hill Engineering can create spacers to allow you to fit the 355 wheels. I've attached a pic that someone once posted, unfortunately I don't have any further info on the car.

re: lowering/suspension, check out this thread: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39712 It's long but well worth the read.

I just got some satin black adhesive vinyl sheet from the sign shop I use. I'll make a pattern and then apply it. Should stay on until/unless I really want to take it back off and look as good as paint. I'll post before and after pics when I get 'er done.

I'm going to join the ranks of those who have removed the targa bar. Just like the clean look. Never liked the Honda Civic with the trunk "spoiler" on the 328. Best of all, I assume it can easily be reinstalled.

I suspect there is an aerodynamic improvement with the spoiler.

If you look at the Dodge Charger, it had a similar rear window treatment. When the cars were raced, it was found that there was a lot of drag created by that attractive body/rear window setup. So they changed the configuration to a flush mounted rear window and dramatically reduced drag.

I'd bet that the wing on the 3x8 is the Ferrari method to do the same thing - reduce drag caused by the airflow and that window/body configuration.

It was a drag issue with the Charger, not an aerodynamic stability or handling issue. So I suspect the spoiler would provide increased fuel efficiency at very high speeds and slightly higher top speed over a non-spoiler car.

I have been going back and forth for a couple years on whether or not I wanted to remove my 328's rear spoiler. The aerodynamics were never really an issue for me because there are lots of these cars (in Europe and elsewhere) that were built and delivered without them, not to mention all of the 2v 308's. I just didn't know whether I wanted to deal with the removal, hole plugging, and body shop paintwork, etc.

Recently, I've been trying to locate an extremely annoying vibration sound coming from the rear quarter area. After lots of tinkering, I isolated it to the rear spoiler, which had some play in it. I bit the bullet today and decided to remove the spoiler, especially after looking at this thread. I've always liked the spoiler-less look and I figured that it wouldn't look too bad on a black car. The removal was a bit of a bear, even though I only had two nuts to undo. Whoever removed the spoiler last never reinstalled it correctly, which is probably why it worked its way loose and started to vibrate.

Anyway, here are some photos of the car immediately after the removal. I actually think it looks pretty good and I am seriously considering leaving it off and having the decklid redone like Tillman did on his gray 328.
