Question, who actually runs "Cars and Coffee in Irvine"?

Is it just a collection of organizers, or is it more informal.

Who do you contact if you want to advertise or propose some ideas for improvement?

don't want to be a killjoy, but one of the charming aspects of this event is commercialism is held to a minimum. But Clinard is the man to make that determination.

I am planning to go tomorrow for the first time in many months. amazing how this event has kept the momentum for many years.

John and his lovely wife Linda are there every Saturday, that is one way to contact them.

bingo. I'm not aware of any "official" sponsorship. even Ford/Mazda, who allow use of their lot for the event, aren't pimping anything (John recently retired from his gig as Ford's PR guy).

If you want to use a car event as a marketing channel, Supercar Sunday has a few vendor booths.

I was at Cars and Coffee this morning.
And that is what surprised me.
... C&C Irvine has stayed true to it's roots ... it's a gathering of cars and people who love them!!!!

Sorry I missed all of you who came out yesterday. I need to check in here more often. As some of you have noted, John Clinard is the man in charge. It is he who asked Ford to let us use the lot when the Irvine Company pushed us out of Crystal Cove and he who is there every Saturday morning to set up the signs and point people in the right direction.

A few people have parked cars at the event with signs, brochures, business cards and stereos blaring to advertise their businesses, but it is really frowned upon. This isn't a swap meet and I get the feeling most of the people who do that are doing themselves more harm than good. I personally would be turned off by seeing businesses do that and probably wouldn't patronize them.

The one exception is when a manufacturer arranges to bring some new display cars, like Dodge, Chrysler, Volvo, McLaren and Porsche have done.

And as a sidenote, if people want to tie their businesses to Cars & Coffee, you can do it through word of mouth by socializing at the show, or you can advertise on one of the unofficial websites that exist and have become the de facto place to go for info, photos and videos. One is CnCPics.com, another is CarsAndCoffee.info

John is an afficianado (sic?) and does it for the love of the cars. Way-to-go John!

+1 John is a great guy and his wife is extremely nice. Not sure what you have in mind, but I'm hoping any advertising is rejected, the whole point is for it to feel like a true show and shine. The car stereo guy who markets heavy there is almost as annoying as the people who park on the "show" lot because they don't want to walk the 100 yds to the spectator lot.

    Hi,

I represent CarsAndCoffee.info. John Clinard is a Ford executive who has been extremely dedicated to the Irvine gathering for years and a dear industry friend. It was created as way to collectively gather all the weekend groups around the country who wish to share photographs and details about their events through their own group page. We have groups in Las Vegas, Austin, Detroit and many other locations as well as overseas. Each group represented has a unique personality. Some are in strip malls, others at car dealerships and still others in the center of town. Most enjoy their group growing on a regular basis as word spreads. The Irvine group is an exception. They work hard to control the amount of traffic they have and are not excited about added media attention, they like it low key and their page on our site is purely for enthusiasts to share. We have groups coming on board soon from as far away as India, Dubai, Australia and Canada and it's exciting to see global interest.
