GTO: available if you ask?

They always fall very short of the promise if you know the difference, and yet you've owned 12 in the past decade.

 

Maybe "Lone Wolf" is "lone" because he is abrasive and pessimistic about the joys and privilege of owning a Ferrari.

 

I'm still waiting for lone wolf to fill out his public profile including his 12 f cars. So i can understand which Ferraris fell short of his expectations.........and why he keeps buying them.

and the Lone Wolf rolls alone because no one else can keep up

 

and the 250 GTO was so named, because it was a 250 ... or 250 GT ... which was subsequently given the "O" by the approving sanctioning body

Then of course we have the 288 GTO, where the factory alone decided ... well before it was ever homolgated (ie, "approved for racing by the appropriate sanctioning body") ... to bestow the GTO moniker upon it. A wise decision, in my view ... repeated again about 25 years later

trust me guys (and yes, i appreciate the irony of me posting this on the internet, when i'm about to tell you to not trust anything you read on the internet) ... there are NO 599 GTO's available.

YES ... we will continue to read how a certain dealer has one that he can't sell Or that this guy knows some dude who heard that another dealer has one ready to go, but can't find a buyer Guess what happens when you show up with cash? yep ... NO CAR AVAILABLE.

So, say what you want about the 599 GTO "not being a real GTO" ... you are entitled to your opinion (even though you would, of course, be wrong). BUT ... please don't try to support your opinion, by pointing to all these GTO's that are available, just for the asking. It simply ain't true. End of story.

and, assuming you have a drivers license too, i would also urge you to take part in a professional driving course so that you can begin to understand what the GTO is capable of.

At least you are fortunate enough to own one already..I wonder how many GTOs if any were turned for a quick 200k profit or orders were canceled for various reasons on delivered cars..can said dealer ask whatever he wants for said car.?

What about post #6 in this very thread? Prancing12 posted that Ferrari of Alberta in Calgary, Alberta, Canada has a GTO available for immediate delivery. Have you called them? Or did you mean in the US only? I don't know with any certainty, but there's a good chance that the Canadian and US market cars meet the same regulatory requirements/standards and that you might be able to easily bring a Canadian spec GTO in to the US..

YES, cars are available! After all, it's nothing more than a re-badged 599 GTB, right? YES!!! Cars are available ... until a real buyer shows up, that is

Honestly, this is good news The market is telling us, what the real owners already know ... these cars are something very special indeed

 

you sound like a guy who bought a good stock and is happy. it's weird.
why do you need the mkt to justify your decision?
personally, i am so fed up with Ferrari's poor quality and bad attitude that i'm just keeping my current cars and not buying the new ones.
