This superb etype is now available for sale. I know the owner, so if any questions just let me know and I'll forward them to him if i cannot answer for you. I help look after the car.
It is a top to bottom restoration done by Lippincotts, who specializes in Jaguar restoration.

I know this car well, I don’t know the owner, just the car. I’m a friend of Terry Lippincott’s. When I restored my car, he let me use his shop for much of the reassembly. I spent most Friday’s and every Saturday for over a year working on my car in Terry’s shop with this car close by, through all phases of it’s restoration. All I know about the owner is that he spared no expense! It was stunning.

As the legend goes, when Enzo Ferrari saw the E-Type for the first time, he called it "The most beautiful car ever made."

What's with your boot lid BlackJag? Do you swop out, one with, and one without a luggage rack?

I’ve been considering another boot lid with a luggage rack. I prefer the clean look of the car without the rack, but when you need the space, it’s nice to have the rack. How hard is it to make the swap and get the alignment right.

BTW...great car, probably my favorite color combo.

I'm the same the clean boot lines looks correct the rack loks like a girls car.We travel a bit and the room in the boot with my return fuel tank swirl is lost.
Good idea if you never use the soft top is to remove it for space.
Plenty of companies make the alloy boots ,RS panels and Classic jaguar racing.
to aligine, its a slow job,I've never got mine correct, but both are of and on so its something I need to live with.
My car is one of the best but I now use it a lot and prefer the used look
    regards Rob.

    That is just beautiful.

The E Type is easily one of the most iconic designs in automotive history. It is in no way unusual to lust after one.

For me though, every time I think of the E Type, I think of Ms. Peel.

Then again, Purty was something else as well.

(sorry to bunny trail, but I cant not mention one of the best things ever presented in an E Type)

I have a 1969 series 2 OTS (build date 10/1968). You can see it in post 21 of this thread. I covered the headlights during the restoration using original Jaguar parts. It’s also fitted with triple SU’s and S1 cam covers. I have every original part that was removed in case a future custodian would prefer a stock S2. Are your center laced wheels 16” or 15”. They look a bit larger than my 15 X 6’s.

rudenoiz, was the covered headlight conversion simple swap out or was it more involved?

Damn... I'd have to keep both of them (and then some) just to get on that thing!

More involved. After removing the Series 2 headlight assemblies, the opening in the bonnet is larger than the opening in a series 1. A small strip of metal need to be added to resize the opening. I did this conversion during the restoration, so I was already planning a repaint (returned to it’s original Signal Red) and other body work. You can see more details here: More involved. http://www.lippincottsgarage.com/2_photo_gallery/JohnB/JohnB.html

There is another kit made in Germany by a company called Wahlsinn - http://etype.e-type-only.de/ . Their advertising suggests that their kit can be fitted without bodywork and is completely reversible. Terry Lippincott did a conversion using the German kit and says that it’s not as easy as suggested and cannot be reversed without paint.. The German kit is pricey at around $2K, but so are original Jaguar parts. I would say that I spent around the same amount. I chose to use original series 1 parts because I wanted it to look as if the work were done at the factory. The German kit is attractive, but not original looking. I was also concerned about the possible of acquiring spare parts in the future in case of accident damage. Original Jaguar parts won’t be any easier to find in the future, but I would bet that they will be around. Let me know if you need more info.

You might need both if you plan to drive this one like it was meant to be drivens. Stunning!
