Saw this on eBay, asked the seller about sound/video files for which they have none. Claims they have sold 16 sets so far with positive feedback (yar, yar). Anyone here get one of these systems?? Anyone heard them before??

yeah, usually you get what you pay for . . . . but at the same time, at $600 it might be worth a try, not much to lose. There's another company on the bay selling one as well priced at around $500. Just wondering if anyone has actually tried them.

I've installed a few 'cheap' complete systems on BMWs that were not name brand and the fitment is usually sub-par and at times the 'stainless', becomes 'rusty' in a few weeks.

With the sound of a 355 so integral to it's appeal- why would you "Take a Shot" on a completely no-name unproven item??

Because if it works, and sounds badass, it's a good deal for $799.

There is nothing wrong with running a "no name" exhaust. I have custom one off headers, and a custom one off exhaust.

I've seen this exhaust in John's showroom. Looks nice. I believe he offers a 1-yr money back guarantee. Send him a note and ask. John is a stand-up guy.

John is a member here, shoot him a PM. He has test pipes for quite a few cars.

The exhaust is actually made offshore rather than in TX.

I don't personally know anyone who has installed it. Tried to get a buddy here to cough up the money for his 355 spider, but I think his wife wanted to get some flowers for their landscaping instead. I went over to their house yesterday and he was trying to trap the rabbits that were eating all those flowers. :D

I have his test pipes, polished stainless, sounds great, no problems, if I were in the market for muffler I would try them

I wonder about how loud these may be...like a Capristo level 3? That would be too radical for me. Or are they similar to stock. I would love to hear from someone who has this muffler installed.

Seriously, how is there no audio/movie file on this exhaust???

Spoke to the sellers, very nice guy that I spoke with and he does not have an audio file of it. I might just buy it to make the damn audio file for everyone else . . . .

Definitely going to get a set of cat deletes to get rid of the heat and open it up a bit. Once those are on I'll see if I want more sound. If so, I'll give it a try.

And make a video it of course

I bought a set of test pipes from him for my 1995 355 Spider. They were very difficult to install because they are 1 inch longer than oem cats. Even with the muffler adjustments on my Tubi, they were a very tight fit. I would make sure that this catback system is sized correctly before purchasing.

Yes my delete pipes look like cats but they have a very small muffled liner inside, and I had no problems with installation(99) just pulled the rear wheel and bam their they were, simply
lossened the top mount on the muffler and installed, I am runing a stock muffler with the test pipes and to me the sound is perfect. in my opinion no need to upgrade the muffler unless you wanted it loud loud.

    Perfect.

Pretty sure that is what I'm looking for. I want that upper end F1 sound but not to any sort of extreme. I have not heard a Capistro III in person, but I'm sure at 7k rpm it is enough to piss a lot of people off and possible shatter some windows.

I too had the same problem, although, I was able to persuade the test pipes to fit. With my test pipes only the 1-4 side was too long.

What would you expect from a made in china piece? A good can is finely tuned and requires lots of research. There are baffles welded at specific points in these babies, and are not only for sound but also performance. Have any of you ever seen welded products from offshore? The fact that some in here would even contemplate installing them because they are cheap once again proves why there are so many pos 355s out there. Anything to save dime.....and then theres the major....where can I save now? Oh I know, dont do one or remove the fuel cell :) How could anyone mis size the straight pipe? Oh maybe this 355 is too short.:)

Gerry, I'm glad we can always count on you to spread some good cheer! lol :)

I agree that 355 was just too short from the factory. Probably built late in the day on a Friday... :)

I heard the quality of the stainless is suspect so someone needs to buy one and let us know. That is cheapo price
