Looking for very special cars for a new car show in NO on Memorial Day Weekend. New show, but very experienced group. Certainly would like late model Ferraris, but also early super cars like Boxers, Miuras, world class classics and antiques, etc. Please, contact me at: [email protected] Preliminary website: www.supercarmardigras.com
The link is useless nothing can be read the way it is presented, and says a new website coming soon but the event is less than 2 months away ??
Well if you click on the picture you find out that the event is in the Quarter and last two days. ???? Since the original poster seems to have credibility here I'll wait and see if anything develops.
Sorry, this is being put together rather quickly by a good friend. Since I posted this information, the website is now up and running. I appreciate the questions, and I will get you all answers. Example, two days, what is expected of entrants over those two days. Thanks for your patience.
I love the idea of a local event, but this is a little strange to me. Your friend is putting on a car show 2 months from now and expects 10,000 - 30,000 folks (with disposable income) to show up? Or is that just the number he is selling to potential sponsors? Also, the poker run has worse odds than the Louisiana lottery- hundreds of cars with a 250 dollar entry fee and a grand prize of 2500 dollars? Is there a zero missing? Curious, of this is related to Supercar Experience that scheduled New Orleans in May 2010 and shelved it
I can tell you right now, you'd better take my photography off your d*mn website...especially if you plan to be hocking your car show around here without a sponsor account!
LOL. How are they going to take over the largest (and one of the few) pay to park lots in the Quarter???
The event will be for two days. Saturday is the poker run, includes the appearances of the celebrities on the website who will also participate in the poker run. The car show is Sunday. It is open to all sports and exotic cars, that would include 308s, 328s, TRs, Boxers, on up to Enzos. This is not an exclusive Ferrari event, so Lambos, Porsches, NSXs, S2000s, etc, are all invited. This show is more like SuperCarSunday that used to be in West Palm Beach. That event would draw over 20,000 people. There will be room for classics, antiques, even classic muscle cars. It is intended to be a fun informal day. Participant in the show would bring their cars Sunday morning for set-up, leave by the end of the day. There will be hotel packages offered, so if you you want to come in Saturday for the night time parties, and leave Monday, that would be possible. This is the first time such a car show will actually take place in NO. The use of the parking lot has already been approved. Any more questions, let me know. As I said, I am not formally involved, just helping out a friend since I am on FChat. The issue with photos has been addressed.
"Ignorance of the law is no excuse." You are in violation of copyright law and it has been dually noted. I am tired of beating around the bush with you folks. Get my images off of your site(s) NOW. That includes the background of the entire page, and the main image. If you don't work there, I urge you to check in with the people who *are* formally involved and find out what kind of show they're running.
Don't confuse the case with facts! Event principals include David Lee Adams of NoLa, Hans Reinisch of SoFla and members of the peanut gallery whom take full credit if the event is a success and are only helping if it falls on it's face. Big shoes to fill doing exotic car events in NoLa. Looks as though things are going to plan so far. BHW
Hey there, time to give up the bold-faced lying and take my photos off your website. It's been WEEKS. I really don't think you want me going into any more details about this with the local crew.
More like a dance around the issue, he said it was addressed, not resolved give me a shout when you get some time.
Anyone fill out the on-line registration? I did. i have received zero response. I'll make other plans for that weekend. I thought the origional poster Ron was credible- I recalled his posting about his Boxer getting hit in the fuel tank and burning. He was lucky to escape with some signifigant burns. But whoever is running this event is out of touch. If they really are "experienced" in running events like this, it is not apparent to I. Richard pull out the stops on them using your materials to promote thier event. The Spyker and shots of the MC12/Enzo are great shots and you should get every $ due.
