Kai - I had the car up today, took a look at my exhaust and I have no play whatsoever with respect to the area where the cat and the exhaust meet. I am not sure what would cause yours to be loose - try tightening those fasteners with the springs on them...but judging by your picture, they look tight enough.
Well, it's getting dark and I have to feed my son. No ride tonight. Wow, this was exciting and exhilerating. When I turned that key and the car finally started...that must rank in the top happiest moments... The supersport sounds incredibly good. Final question, how do I tug the exhaust tighter under the chassis? Do I crank those silver ehxaust spring thingies higher? Should get the Kia crank sensors later this week and will do all that work this weekend and then reset the ECU. Now I deserve a nice glass of wine Heck, make that a glass of whisky! Kai
They do not need to be really tight. Don't torque them down, just reasonably tight. I have had my system on and off a half dozen times and you just need to snug them up pretty well.
That's what they are but I can move the exhaust and it slides in and out of the cat... The silver exhaust hangers (with the spirng in it) sit on a swivel that moves forward and backward. I can move the entire exhaust forward and backward because of that and it slides in and out of the cat even with the screws connecting those quite tight. Weird. Kai
