Hey Kev; I like the early ones for their lightness and pure simplicity. Mine's a (first year for the US) 84 with preassurized carburators. At one time I liked the looks of the newer curvy ones better but with time am going back to liking the original wedge. As for refinement... How do I break this to you...
Heres my clients, I had to clean it up because he decided to get rid of it. I told him I would work for free with his other cars as an even trade.....no dice LOL The interior is black with red piping on the seats. I love it, beautiful car! Here is my S2 this past Friday being trucked from the importer (California car) to get on the train ride east to Toronto Ontario Canada where I will pick it up...should have here in a week or so...so exciting. Truck hydraulics sprung a leak...not the Esprit! ....I am sure it will have a chance to mark its spot in my garage soon enough. beeeeev Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

My project is progressing.. My S2 had been converted into a turbo S3 look a like. Now it´s time to go back to original design. Here´s a link to my fiberglass magicians project page. http://koti.mbnet.fi/skote/Lotus/Esprit.html
Can you compare the two? With so many V8TTs in the $40k range, it's pretty tempting vs. $70-85k for an Evora. But with Evora you get a warranty and new car convenience.
Yeah I understand completely.....V8 is a raw power machine. It was really alot faster with hyperflow cats and straight exhaust (also sounded amazing). It will cost you alot more in maitenance however. The Evora is better handling, better brakes, just as good of a noise(just different), has a back seat(small kid friendly), modern looks that rival any supercar. It is alot easier to drive and there is no fear of the clutch or gearbox going out on you. It isn't as fast, but its fast enough to entertain on our mountain roads.

I have been a long time Lotus fan. Almost pulled the trigger on an Esprit several times but never closed the deal. As time has gone by I have considered an Elise/Evora. After looking at the pictures today though , the Esprit has aged so well that I prefer an Esprit over the Elise. The lines of the Elise are timeless-gorgeous- aging well and so much more attractive than the Miata/Elise styling.
