Rory Byrne is the man who can compete with Newey. Ferrari need to pull his A $ $ out of retirement.

Not to bring up old injuries, but I wonder what LdM is thinking...

He dismantled arguably the most talented team in F1 ever (Todt/Brawn/Schumacher) for this bunch? Who don't even know what's wrong with the car? I'm sure they'll put the time in to figure it out, but the competitors are marching forward, always. So, by the time they've got it, they'll be behind on something else.

Time does move on, and things and people must change. But, the Scuderia has spent upwards of $2B (my guesstimate is ~$500MM per season) on the last 5 seasons in F1 and have little to show for it. They've been in the hunt at the end of the season, but no one remembers who finished second. Or third. Or...

No, the article in the OP seems to hit the nail on its head.

So you can say that I'm not reporting anything new. And you'd be right and that's the problem.

    Interesting quote in article:

Another member of the team said: "It is not like we can hide behind claiming the Red Bull is not legal. In 2009, we were beaten by a design that we firmly believed was not legal - the twin diffuser.

"But it is not like that this time. Their car is legal and we must look to ourselves to improve."

Yeah but you were also trounced by Red Bull which had no double diffuser...
