Daft Punk are auctioning the 412 that they used in their film 'Electroma' as part of EMI Records Japan disaster relief effort.

It's going to be included in the 2nd round of items that go live from April 11-21.

Cheers for the band or whoever actually owns it. Looking through the gallery of offerings by other EMI artists the vast majority are just little or zero cost superfan garbage. With the exception of a few signed instruments the Ferrari is the only thing with any merit of it's own.
I'd like a better desciption than "excellent condition" before bidding though.

Strong indeed considering the automatic transmission and the unknown (apparently) service history.

Did anyone else enjoy the quote, "It is completely original down to the floor mats. It features a custom stereo with double subwoofers"?

At an average of 670 miles per annum, I hope being "lovingly maintained in the California sunshine" comes with papers.

Well sold and hope it went to a home where it will be driven.

If I am buying I want a bargain. If I am selling I want the price to be very strong.
Only following the market like I am today as I am not in position to buy or sell suggests
value in objectively evaluating market conditions for next round.

Pick your side as you need.

They are a Electronic Rock Band with some interesting tunes.
They had a 412 star in their Movie Electroma. here is an excerpt:

Honestly- When it comes to "classic" cars I've adopted a different philosophy- Sure I always want to know where the market is so I have some sort of compass to guide me- But I have had FAR more pleasure buying really good cars at the top end of the market than spending endless days and weeks trying to shave a thousand or two off a car that was priced reasonably in the first place.

I just don't think the term "Bargain" makes any sense with these cars.

Now of course nothing wrong with getting a great deal- some nice cars sold for very short money at auction recently, but why would you NOT want to pay a good strong price for relief money going to japan?? For a super low mileage 412 that is really the only example of the species featured in any sort of pop culture media?? I think that car just sitting on a car lot somewhere in the USA is a high $30s car- maybe even a $40K car given the mileage- IF it's clean and serviced. (Facts that I don't think we know)

I think the difference between a "Clean" auto 412 and a "Pristine" auto 412 is $10K.

    Your car?
Disappointing news about the engine. What sort of damage?
I can imagine the car wasn't treated well during that film shoot in the desert.
    Good luck with the repairs.
