I just bought this transkit. Found it on ebay. Can't wait to have it here.

It'll be interesting to see what's included. It is hard to tell from those pictures. In any case I already have another transkit just for the decals.

being no 599FXX whole kit on the market, this one could be nice to use in combo with a 599 fujimi or revell kit

where/who are these from? how much?

They are not available yet. You will see them all over the place when Carrera releases them. I think somebody in the factory put the scoops on backwards. Kind of funny, but it is a test shot. I think APM is doing a 599XX full kit in 1/24th and Hobby Design does a transkit also in 1/24th scale. They already have kits of the 599XX in 1/43rd, 1/18th and 1/12th.

Hell must be freezing over, because Model Factory Hiro is going ahead with their announced over 2 years ago 330LMB in 1/24th scale!!!!

Also a few more 1/12th MFH 643 transkit photos.

I'm patiently awaiting the 643 transkit. I'm wondering still what it all entails beyond the underbody and the body. There were more changes to the car than "just" that.

It looks like that Hiro 643 transkit has a ton of parts. Don't know why they didn't just make a full kit.

On the Carrera slot cars, the Maserati, Ford GT and Aston Martin are already out. They also did a nice Corvette Grandsport and Cheetah in 1/24th scale that look good. The Gransport wheels look more accurate than the Accurate Miniatures Grand Sport kits wheels.

The Carrera GT40 MKII roof and body look better to me that the Fujimi kit, wich I think has to low a roof line. Since several decal makers make decals for these cars you could tear them apart if you wanted to detail them.

    Why do you think so?

Maybe I'm interpreting the pics the wrong way: I think the dark grey parts are the only new ones and the rest is Tamyia. No?

Here are the body/tub parts. I did see a few pictures of the kit, and it includes many parts not just the body. I think you will be happy until you start to build it since it is a transkit.

Also just found photos of the APM 1/24th scale Ferrari 599XX FULL KIT. I would say forget the Carrera slotcar since the slotcar will cost $90.00 and the Fujimi 599 donor kit $50.00 plus you have no 599XX photoetch only kit. Spent the $$$ and get the APM.

    LOL

Thanks, now I get it: Everything that is not painted on the pictures is new, so yes, there are a lot more parts.

Unfortunately it still has the insanely cumbersome bodywork around the rear suspension which gave me insane headaches the last time I built it.

On sale for $62.00, regular price $89.99. That is a good price, but on ebay you can find Carrera 1/24th slots even cheaper. Its good to see them making some nice Ferrari's. The problem still is you don't have photoetch or proper windows or decals. I know the APM is expensive but compared to the Hobby Design TK its still not bad.

    Hey Tom,
Carrera has some pretty interesting cars. I saw the Auto Union and that slippery looking Mercedes. Those would make for some nice starting points for some detailed models and maybe detailed recasts.

How accurate would you say some of these are?

I can't tell you how excited I am about Hiro finally getting around to the 330LMB. They never take that long to put out a kit. Being it was so long since they first announced it I guess we all figured it was a dead deal for who knows what reason.

    Hi Ed,

I think it varies alot, but they seem to be getting alot better. The 599XX and Breadvan look pretty good, but we have to see them in person first.

I also am very happy to see the 330LMB. 1/20th F1 model sales must be getting a little slower, so time to switch back to 1/24th sportscars :) I would love to see some 1950's Ferrari sportscars from Hiro with motors(315, 335, 500TRC, 860, 750 Monza's, 375Plus ect.)

By the way, you should contact APM. They are making some top quality resin models now. The quality is better than Studio 27.

good point.....i just really dislike the thick casting of the APM, and those type kits always seem to have distortion issues to some degree (from mild to bad) IMO

and don't understand why these factories are repeating to produce models that other have already done, that is not good news for builder/collector, specially when the quality goes inferior, do you agree, like the 599xx of apm, enzo from fujimi etc.

That's because they made so many mistakes on the first one!!! Looks like a new master.

I have a Tecnomodel 250 SWB in 1/24th wich is very nice and alot better than the old Hiro 250 SWB.

That's a good idea. I think that the 250 SWB from MFH was one of the worst kit I had ever built for that amount of money ! I said never again...
To align with tom, I think the Tecnomodel is probably the most beautiful. I had so many discussion with tecnomodel in order to convince them to sell it as a kit...since years they keep telling me 'it is post-poned'...

I'm not 100% sure but I always wondered if the Tecnomodel was a copy of the CMA body. I have the original CMA masters of the SWB. I was considering putting it out as a transkit for the GTO kits, but I want to wait and see what the MFH ends up looking like. The body they are showing is a different type body as the CMA body. The CMA will make the Moss car type body with the gas cap on the fender, not under the rear window.

I don't think the Tecnomodel body is the old CMA. They used photoetch for all the window frames intead of molding it in like on the CMA. There were 2 Moss cars, one with the early style door window frames and one with the late style door frames. This looks like the second Moss car. I hope MFH started from scratch on this second kit.

MFH now also list an early and late 250 SWB and a late type 250 TDF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hell is freezing over. I would stay away from the SWB kits if they are not all new.

I'm reading a lot of criticism about MFH on here. Should I get worried?

Then again they delayed the release of the 643 transkit.
