No, I think it actually hilarious... I have long posted my original owner of 22127 had a list going: Trunk lid rattles wipers sometimes stop mid travel Blah Blah Blah Then his engine explodes at about 2K miles of use. No Lists after that.....Canadian Tax Authorities later led him quietly away.....it was indeed "Titled" to his firm......
NO they did not, they were changed by the USA Importer, to get the car Federalized in a simple and costly manner.....(512BBs have God awful lights some cut low in 'glass, some right thru the rear sheet metal where it'll be $$$$$ to fix it)...those ARE incorrect as they sit BUT THERE"S a GOOD Reason....DOT papaers! You'll be dinged points in FCA Judging if you do not put them back to Factory Orientation. Bye ya'll. ALL of my posts here are trying to point it it wasn't necessarily crash damage, and it wasn't because the Factory was whimsical in the way they built the cars... There's things hidden in that car that could cost you $10K to fix, worry about things like that. Does it have DOT and EPA papers? Real or fraud??? Those are the important things of Euro ownership in the States...
..and the front jewel is actually a "repeater' tied to the turn signals, NOT a running light as our DOT would later require. Image Unavailable, Please Login
...Euro car, note solid amber lenses. A street example would have had the reverse lights cut into the bumper. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought I had a pic of Kermit Green rear view, it had early 'single outlet' exhaust valance Image Unavailable, Please Login
And I thought the only 308 was a red GTS.........lol I guess you have to have your AC working in Houston then..........lol

I could give a flying F@^k If red lense is outside or not, I WANTED TO KNOW IF ITS BEEN MESSED WITH! I was also told that because its 25 years old it didn't require DOT/EPA papers. Jesus, after I sold my GTB QV I'm beginning to remember why I stayed away for 4mths,

You asked a question and lot's of people, myself included, gave you the correct answer, along with documentation and proof. Then you kept asking the same question! Can you understand why people's patience is tested???? There are people on this site, like Big Tex for example, who know just about everything when it comes to 308's. Respect the wisdom and help you receive from people rather than throw a childish tantrum. And if you owned a GTB qv I'm surprised you even asked the question.........unless it's taillights were in the wrong position....L.O.L! Pete
It's been messed with.....touched by human hands. I'd pass, then. MAYBE there has been an "Ollie Ollie all come in free" called, by the EPA/DOT, now that 25 years has passed. All my posts in this thread were referring to the rule IN PLACE AT THE TIME for bringing in a Euro car, and there's been several examples recently hit the market that have been operating here illegally for a LONG time. I have no idea what the status and/or liabilities would be of buying and owning one of these.....that's a big reason I buy North American versions.

No way I know everything there is to know Pete, let's just say I have seen up her skirt a few times...... Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you wanted to know if it had been in a crash why didn't you ask how to look for crash damage. BTW my euro tail lights are red on the outside and I looked in my owners manual and it show that to be correct.
Post a picture of that, if you will....all the Euros I have ever seen have standard lens/lamp placement, you are ALWAYS the one to join in nthese threads to the contrary.....not arguing at all, this is refuting EVERY picture I have posted many of them Euro cars.... What country in Europe was your car delivered???
Does the car in question have rear side markers cut in? If not, the lights could very well have been switched for federalization. On the originality note, how would FCA judge it? I would think you would have to have some serious documentation for your particular serial number to prove it left the factory with red lights outboard. Along similar lines I would not equate swapped lenses to body damage. Maybe a previous owner swapped them for asthetic reasons. I think comparing lenses may be a better gague. Do one or more look newer than the others? Are they all replacements? My euro QV has red lights inboard and rear side markers hacked in, but managed to escape having converters or smog equipment added.
I have no way of knowing or am I saying that my car left the factory as it sits today. I would always defer the BigTex as I am a newbie. I just bought the car from the original owner and with this thread found it interesting that my owners manual shows it this way. I assume that it was changed when the car was imported by the owner or during the repainting of my car a number of years back. BTW I have removed the ugly black muffler cover and shield. I realize after looking that mine were changed during the importing so that they did not have to install rear side markers. How hard is it to change to the correct position?
