Quite easy actually. Available from the Club - the Riley Register and numerous other vendors for about 30 quid ($50 US). But if I need to take the head off then what? I think I would then have to pull the pan and remove the rod bearing caps. Then stick a piece of wood into each cylinder and bash on it with a stout hammer. Funning thing is that pulling the head and scraping out accumulated carbon was common maintenance back in the day. "De-coking" they called it and it was pretty much the Riley version of Ferrari timing belt replacement in terms of frequency and headache value.

"Not to worry" as they say. I'm 99.9% sure that soaking, rocking back and forth and prayer will solve the problem within a week or so without breaking any rings. If not, I'll move on to the PB Blaster!

Ferraris that were slogged around at low speeds often required de-coking too.

I once had an old geezer recall the memory at a local Texaco gas station where I took my 308GTB flats.

They'd plug them too, if I PROMISED to remember the tire was then 'derated'!! :D

Yup, if soaking it doesn't help, then I would say inspect it, either with a endoscopic device or just remove the head and see what you might find. If you manage to free it up while it has corrosion in the bores, it could be that you damage the cylinder walls running it... that's why I would advise you to inspect the top end thoroughly. It could well be that just the moisture from the initial startup has caused some corrosion that easily irons out with a light hone, preventing further damage. Otherwise your engine if off with a bad start.
It must be that, or the bearings seized because of improper tolerances. I would say removal of the head is the least you should do and then decide on further steps, including possibly tapping the pistons out as you say.

You aren't attempting to turn the engine over with the spark plugs in place, are you?

Seems like your next step might be to hook up a block heater for a while, to heat up the coolant in the water jackets. That MIGHT help to unstick the rings, if that's the problem.

Just throwing this out there as it popped into my head after reading all of the posts, it maybe completely off target, but...

What if there's nothing wrong with the motor? Is it possible that something may be jammed between the flywheel and the bellhousing locking the two together (like a pressure plate/throwout bearing finger), preventing it from turning over?

So heres an old old solution to a rusted or stuck motor. Coke Cola. Yes the real thing!!!!! pour it in the cylinders and let it set for a few days and presto it will losen up the pistons on the bores. It will work for head studs/bolts. Its the damest thing but it works. I have used this remdy on many of my severly rusted piston bores in my brass era car restorations and it works. I learned this from the best sorce a young man could have, his father.
