Would be 100x better without the music.

Yes. Really nice spots, both of them, but why would you drown out the engine with a second rate Gladiator knock off? I'm beginning to wonder if Lamborghini actually understand their own product.

Nice! I liked them! Even with the music - much better than the ad showing the Aventador trying to outrun the crumbling earth beneath it!

I guess you have to get inside the mind of somebody who can afford one of these babies. I can't, and I can't stand the music.

    It's pompous and stupid.

    Oh wait...I think I get it. ;^D

The red cover for the start/stop is corny. Why do they do toyish things like that? What are we, Top Gun wannabees?

Great looking car... rather boring video.

The crumbling earth ad was just downright stupid. The special effects came right out of a 90's B movie. I have no idea what these guys are thinking but these videos sure aren't selling to the people who are going to buy one.

It's fun, it's theatre, it's part of the 'event'. Why not? If you're going to have a pointless starter button (cough... F430, 458... cough) then might as well make the most of it. Its just one more thing to make you smile. Yes, it's utterly daft... but I love it.

It's also, in mimicking a missile launch button, a statement of intent and, as such, quite poetic...

Why are they revving so much just to drive at 5mph around a corner?

    Ok...I'll stop now :)

Thank you for sharing. Also notice another one on YouTube in the Desert with the road falling apart. Lamborghini is always good with the promotional videos / commercials.

Sadly, with modern video production, the sound is almost never real, but is dubbed in, and I am almost sure all the engine sounds are totally dubbed in these videos as well in order to sound cool and impressive, and as you've pointed out, many of the sounds make no sense relative to what the car is doing.

It's corny. Next year they'll have a key to unlock the cover to get to the button you don't really need.

I think this is one area were McLaren "gets it".

Well, McLaren has the whole handle-less doors thing, which is a little gimmicky.

Oh yeah, and you need 2 feet of lateral clearance just to get the thing open (and I can't imagine cracking one of those things open and slipping out the back). I never really liked those sorts of diagonal/upward opening doors.

Rome is beautiful, Italy is beautiful. Most of us already know and appreciated this intensely. I thought I was going to be treated to something that would inform me in a spectacular fashion about the new model. This it did not do. In Rome I saw way too much detail about Rome itself and not about the car. Marcus Agrippa got better coverage. The balance is way out of whack. Hello! Editor? IT"S A NEW CAR! Yes I like the music but not overwhelmingly a l l of the time. It's obvious that everyone wants to hear the engines. Think Rendevous ... Clearly these videos were not produced by car guys. This is reminiscent of the first Infiniti ads back in early 1990 with all the rocks, trees, nature and very little car ...

I can't speak about the traffic laws in Rome but on that two lane twisty the only time they could have possibly violated any laws was when one of the cars hit the apex of the turn in the on coming lane and crossed the white line. No one appeared to be going very fast or pushing the car. Valentino must have been off somewhere else that day REALLY driving the snot out of the car ...

Fred here's my take. The sound track of just the two cars wasn't all that great so they added the music to obliterate it. But it does seem like they also overdubbed some birdies and a few gratuitous engine sounds in some spots where it sounded like bicycles were passing along. The more open road stuff sounded real to me though.

But only marginally more corny than the completely pointless starter button in the F430 that you and I both love. All starter buttons are pointless and nothing more than theatre. Most cars do just fine with a twist of a key.
