AC low pressure fitting

    I want to recharge my 93 512TR. I want to make sure I use the low pressure fitting. The parts manual describes the fitting exiting the left side of the compressor is the inlet and the fitting exiting towards the right of the compressor is the outlet. I don't want to assume inlet is suction side or low pressure side. Please advise.

    Is your car using the original R12 or has it been converted to the 134a?

    If you have a gauge set, the blue hose is low pressure and IIRC the low pressure connector is smaller than the high side. For sure on blue and R134 fitting but unsure about R12 fittings and I was wrong once before in a February I think, so don't shoot me.

    Thanks for the replies. I am charging with original R12. The fittings on the compressor are both the same, the original R12s.

    If your system works at all you could feel the fitting when the compressor comes on. The low pressure side will be cool; the high pressure side will at a higher temperature.

    low side hoses are always larger diameter than high side, fittings are usually in line with hoses.

    Thanks all for the advice. The hoses are the same diameter but the steel fittings are a different diameter. I used everyone's input and I think the recharge went well. I put in 3 12 ounce cans which comes to about 2.25 pounds. The manual calls for a little under 3 lbs. It is blowing cold for now and will see how long it lasts. Summertime in Florida.
