Is this all insurance scam by owners that cant afford repayments? We never ever had problems with ours. What are your thoughts? Should we go for another brand or stick with Ferrari?

There's a huge thread about this if you search.

No, it was not a scam. About 5 cars caught fire very early in production. Ferrari did a recall of all cars and replaced some glue and insulation in the engine compartment. The problems stopped after that.

Depends on where you live. Some folks burn the car so they can collect the insurance money and make their next payment.

I doubt anyone is burning their 458 for insurance money when they can be sold over MSRP (especially the early cars several months ago)

I have a friend that is a Porsche salesman, he said to me the 911 owners are strange/weird most of them lose their cars to insurance scams such as fire, theft, and repossession.

And it's the same story with F430. I remembered there was a recall (car salesmen say campaign instead of recall) on our car due to so many fires, but i thought it was more of you know insurance scam.
