Excellent job, Mitchell!! Regarding this issue - same thing happened to me, simply bled some air that was still in the system and that solved the problem...and I see that by the time I posted this, you too have resolved that issue
Sounds good. Give me a few days heads up. PM me in case you don't still have my number. Wish I'd seen this thread a few days ago. I would have suggested replacing the cam belt shrouds while you had the engine out. The black plastic parts are junk, and there are not many of these aluminum pieces still to be found out there.
Jarrett I did inspect the plastic ones and they are still in very good shape. No cracks, no worn spots, and no stress marks anywhere. Having said that, I would not mind picking up a set of aluminum ones for next time. Where would I look ?
Was it the fuse in the front trunk or something else? I solved the fuse problem over the winter by cleaning all of the connections, but now the problem is back. I don't want to just keep changing fuses if they are blowing for a reason. Don't want to hijack your thread, but since you brought it up...
Not in my case. I messed with the module when I removed it for de-stick treatment. When I put it back, the connector was not seated properly and it fell off. Last night when I took out the module, it was very obvious what went wrong. Reconnected it and the module came to life. I knew it was not the fuses because I disconnected the battery at the very first step. But I did check all the fuses too and they were fine...
It finally moved out of the garage under its own power. But, it put up a last fight. There is a 30 amp fuse for the AC Condensor fan at the relay whose connection was so loose that the heat generated by the current caught the fuse on fire. I had to rig up a fuse connection and retest the circuit. Phew, working now and it was lucky that the thing let go in the garage and not on the road. I am done !!! Final update before I close out this thread. I took it for a long (22 miles) drive to work this morning. Runs perfect, no leaks, no noise, responsive throttle, smooth shifting (with Redline shock proof oil), rock solid idle with no bouncing no funny business, and no CEL. Thanks all.
