    I have a 2002 575.
I may have to replace a catalyst ECU.
Had a CEL come one and the code was 1454
Hoping for an easy fix and bought a cat ECU, I just dont know if this is the problem or a if its a thermocouple or something more. Furthermore, I dont know what side the code is coming from
Is there any special procedure to change out the ECU?
Do I just turn the battery switch off? Replace the ECU and turn the switch back on?

Dominic- Affirmative. Turn off battery with disconnect switch, install new ECU. Turn off radio and A/C, from cold turn ignition on (position II) for 20 seconds, start car and let idle for 10 minutes with no input. If you still have the problem, you can try swapping ECUs side to side and see what you get. Could be fuel injection or thermocouple, too, but hopefully not. If it is FI, you can cook your cat and even start a fire, so be careful and check actual cats for signs of overheating (glowing red is bad).

Thanks Taz for all your help with this.
I have the ECU coming from Daniel tomorrow
I did manage to reset the light after the ECU reset you told me about.
I plan on taking the car out for a drive and see if the CEL comes back. Regardless if it comes on or not I will still take a temp reading of both cats with my infra-red themometer and see if I have a FI issue, bad ECU or thermocouple. Atleast taking temp readings will pinpoint what side the issue is on.

You won't need the IR thermometer if your cats are baking. You'll be able to feel it from 10' away. Then you'll look underneath and see the show.

Gut says that the ECU is not where you should start solving the problem.

O2 sensors, thermocouples, THEN the ECU, but like I said, that's just armchair without a good SD printout.

I started and let idle till the oil temp came up to temperature
then took it out on a short 5 mile drive, no CEL, no Slow Down light
Didnt really see anything glowing but its hard to see the cats with the car on the ground and the underside pan on.
Its true, at this point I am just a parts changer looking for an easy fix. If the light comes back on its off to Algar. Just trying to fix this on my own since I have an event this weekend I didnt want to miss.
What are the chances it was just an electrical gremlin and wont happen again now that the ECU has been reset, Wishful thinking

CEL might take more drive time to gather data and a few more key cycles to come on.

It's a Ferrari. By nature it is one big electrical gremlin. Pretty one though.

No good answers without SD. Hoping for the best for you though! I hate missing events...

Apollo- He has the code and I have sent him the Ferrari P-Code diagnosis. He is not starting from scratch.
