Every time I open this thread, the picture of that steak is at the top and... DAMN, IT LOOKS GOOD!!! And double-damn, now I'm salivating again... Just... damn. All the best, Andrew.
We were guests for Easter dinner, but we made dessert-homemade profiteroles, split and stuffed with homemade vanilla ice cream, drizzled with homemade bittersweet ganache, and accented with toasted chopped hazelnuts. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No pics... But beef roast braised in the oven, black eyed peas with ham leftover from yesterday, poppa grew the peas. Stuffing and some biscuits. Leftover cake and homemade ice cream for desert. Love the holidays, as if my family needs and excuse to cook.

I'm having trouble uploading a pic, but my fishmonger had some killer jumbo diver scallops. I diced up some pancetta, sauteed until crisp, removed and drained the pan of the fat, tossed in a knob of butter and some olive oil, sauteed the scallops over very high heat. Added some capers, lemon juice, parsley, and the reserved pancetta. Yum!

roast chicken, veggies, roast potatoes and gravy. Decent, but forgot the picture. I ate it before I could take one.
Last night the g/f brought broccoli rabe pizza and the famous hand carved porcini rubbed prime rib sandwich, both from Mario Batali's Eataly. Tonight I had a Greek salad for dinner. Tomorrow night I'm making Marcella Hazan's veal scallopini with fontina, asparagus, and Marsala in parchment along with pesto sauced spaetzle. Pics to follow, but I've made this many times and it's a no brainer.
I cooked Mother's day dinner for for 8, including 2 moms (mine and my sister) and a mom to be. Wedge salad with homemade blue cheese dressing and a tasty balsamic reduction. 2" thick Beef tenderloins cooked Sous Vide @ 135 then seared on the Big Green Egg with beef demi-glace, horseradish-gratin potato's, and roasted Brussels sprouts with prosciutto and a tasty red currant glaze.
