hello everyone, pretty self explanatory i am interested in seeing what is on offer out there anyone have/know of a challenge grill up for sale? to be completely honest, i am turned off by a new one's price kindly let me know here, via PM, or email at thanks in advance
I have one adorning my garage wall. It was damaged while my car was parked but if you know someone handy at metalworking, it could probably be massaged back to good as new. My Ad has been up on FerrariAds for a while now. LMK.
look at this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ferrari-355-Challenge-Grill-/300494874851?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45f6e3e8e3
Yep, these seem to be on eBay all the time. Read the fine print and you'll see they are replica parts. Might be a great value for those who don't mind going non-OEM.
i am very sorry to hear about your accident, and glad that no one got hurt i found your ad, and i must admit the grill does not seem to be all that hard to fix if i was able to see and touch the grill in real then i would definitely consider it good luck with your sale bro very interesting, thanks bro! did you buy one? at 37% of the price of an OEM one, it seems reasonable to give it a shot i mean, we are installing non-OEM mechanical parts, so why not this would love to learn more about this product though has anyone tried this item?
thanks, i did do a search before this post, but fortunately and unfortunately there are sooo many threads on everything lol, i guess all owners think alike here is one i found with a bit of an argument going for it, and it ends well for Pro-Sport http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=313316&highlight=355+challenge+grill might be sending them an email very soon
Pro-Sport replied $1,023 delivered to my home hmm, will have to keep that on the very short-list now for the technical part, how much of a difference, REALLY, do they do for the engine bay losing heat? i get that any ventilation will be good, but just how much? NOTE: this has nothing to do with the decision of buying one or not, since that is 98% an aesthetic matter
Got one on my car and its great! In fact there better than the originals BUT it has been discussed before Its a bit like A Hills bearing BETTER quality for LESS money. Bit of a no-brainer IMO
can we get lots and lots of pics please? and yes, i have already ordered the F1 adapter to use a 360 pump on my car from HE through Ricambi + the HE clutch-release bearing as well come engine service time, i will definitely be using the HE tensioners as well. mind you, i have NEVER heard of HE before, nor did i drive the car yet BUT i trust the mechanical and technical part of driving .. not to mention the fact that Ferrari aren't exactly MB or Porsche to begin with
Chris, that looks beautiful mate!! well done, enjoy it in the best of health did you use the Cavallino from your original part? it sticks right on the challenge grill, as if applied to the original panel itself?
Yes used the original Cavallino its held on my a couple of small nuts 7mm i think they were very easy to swap over just don't put it on upside down 1st like i did
haha! thanks Chris, you have been GREAT, really i didn't know the cavallino was held by small nuts on my panel; i will see for myself tomorrow because the car is at the shop i corresponded with Mike at Prosport Ferrari, and i will put in the bank transfer tomorrow; hopefully they can ship one out my way by mid-next week power007, many thanks to you as well my friend for letting me know of its existence
You will be 100% happy with the grill its a great purchase!! For me there was no chance i was paying the silly money that Ferrari wanted.
Also, don't over tighten the Cavallino nuts because the threads on the back of the Cavallino can snap off. They are white metal. Yes, I learned this the hard way There is a carbon fibre version of the Challenge Grille coming out. It will be way cheaper than the original version.
I've also bought my challenge grill from Prosport, the quality is awesome and you will not see the difference from the original Ferrari I am attaching pictures of the grill on my car, photo was taken a few months ago Image Unavailable, Please Login
i think i am underestimating how much difference the grill will make on my car (it is yellow, giallo modena) because i am more fixated on thinking about the clutch/throwout/pump job it is in the shop for and yes, i totally agree that the OEM part is just ridiculously priced imho thanks for the tip! i will take that into consideration There is a carbon fibre version of the Challenge Grille coming out. It will be way cheaper than the original version.
LOL i am not a fan of CF exterior parts, and considered some CF interior parts but was appalled by how much some companies were charging for the pieces!! i LOVE that colour! congrats and enjoy it in the best of health is it the angle, or is there something 'different' about your rear bumper engine breathing outlets?
had a chance to shoot this for reference if hopefully this thread can be of some use for the Searchers of the future fair assumption that those 2 screws is what we're talking about Image Unavailable, Please Login
