Whats the latest on the construction of In-n-Out in Garland? Have the other locations been planned out yet?

Ahhh...one of SoCal's greatest exports. All still family owned if I'm not mistaken...jayzus...I'd love to get my hands on one if they ever franchised.

Anyways, enjoy .... and get used to long lines at all times. Hang tough, it's worth it.

If it's anything like the Five Guys hypefest, I just hope it doesn't kill Fred's, like what Krispy Kreme did to so many good, but small donut shops years ago, before flame-out.
Tried FG, absolutely the most average, fried-on-another-slab-o-steel "grill" burger.......but huge, I mean HUGE hype leading up to opening.
I guess I just expect too much from the description "Better/Best", and FG wasn't it (I have a coupe of friends who were driving all the way to Southlake from W Ft. Worth for it).

Sorry if I offend the In-N-Out faithful; I honestly hope it's better, and not just another Five Guys - good, but 99.9% like the rest of the norm.

IMO, Kincaides, Airline, and Lambert's are well outside of that norm, noticeably above it.
    Where's I-N-O going to hit?

There are plans for an INOB in Frisco off Preston Rd near Stonebriar mall. A distribution warehouse is going up in North Texas to support the stores.

There is supposed to be one coming to Waco just 29 miles north of me, anyone remember Charlie's Hamburgers? I did not have the chance today but there is a market in town that is known for their classic old style greasy bun burgers, yummy!!!!!

Actually I was referring to the locations in Dallas that I keep hearing about...but that might as well include ANY locations in Texas!! And hey, if the first one's in Waco, even better excuse to take a drive down there!

The Allen location opened today. The obesity rate the in the DFW area is about to spike even higher.

Not sure, I've only heard about the Allen location opening today.

    http://www.in-n-out.com/locations.asp

The Ft. Worth location was framed over the weekend & my guess it could be another two or three months until it opens.

The In-n-out at Caruth Haven and Central Expresswy/75 looks to be a couple of months out as well. They are converting a Steak and Shake that went bust.

It's a burger and taco stand frenzy in Dallas lately. Near me, Elevation Burger (grass fed tree hugger burgers), Mooyah - really good, had one today, and the best so far, Smash Burger. These are drawing me away from my standby of 50 years, Burger House, on Hillcrest in Snider Plaza. Rusty Taco, Fuzzy Taco, Torchy's Taco, will all these go the way of the yogurt stores of the 80's and early 90's, TCBY , I Can't Believe It's yogurt
    and all the rest?

I found this video from another site, here's an idea of all the massive hype from the Allen store opening. NBC5 reported a two hour drive-thru wait in line then thirty minutes to get your food once the order has been placed.

Guess I don't get it, but it's pretty apparent that In-n-out has one hell of a PR team.

    Now 5 guys -- that's a good chain burger.

I've never seen any PR done.

2 hours is insane, they are good, but not 2 hour wait good. Geez, most I've waited was like 5 minutes :p

Thank God I did not drive over to the Allen location yesterday for a quick in and out burger!!! I almost convinced the wife to do it! That line is rediculous!

I'm really not looking forward to what the 7th St location is going to do with local traffic flow. Don't get me wrong, it's great having another new place but I can really do without all the hype. For those that know this area, imagine a two hour traffic jam just for a hamburger. Btw, I still haven't tried one yet.

Current construction process of the IN N' OUT Burger on West 7th Street. The traffic jam will be legendary opening day & drag on weeks long after that, all for something that tastes like an over-glorified Whataburger.

I did finally tried one in Frisco a couple of weeks ago, 30 minutes wait total to get my order. Wasn't all that impressed & for the money (& maybe a bit more) you're better off going to Tim Love's Love Shack.
