I think your 643 should be fine. They are not perfect when it comes to accuracy, but in general they make nice kits. Some people because they are full detail kits with tons of parts are blind to their mistakes. We like to make sure people are aware of the problems and know wich kits not to buy. Has anyone else seen the 1992 Ferrari-Nissan WSC car for sale in AuotWeek? Is this an F333 with a Nissan engine or something Ferrari actually did? http://marketplace.autoweek.com/classified/181/1992_Other_WSC_X_250.html Feff
It's not a Ferrari. Spice did run Ferrari engines in the IMSA GTP light class and over in Europe back in the early 1990's, but it was not a Ferrari effort. This could be one of them modified?
That actually is a Nissan with a Ferrari 3.4l V8 in place of the original Nissan motor. Bears absolutely positively NO connection with the Ferrari 333SP that was mentioned although this car did compete at Sebring in 1997 as claimed. For the record, there was a Ferrari 333SP with a non Ferrari motor but that was a Judd V10 as far as I can remember. PS: considering what this car is and what it came from it may be a bargain.
I remember seeing the Lista Ferrari/Judd 333SP at Sebring. It was faster with the Judd motor!! Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2012-Chicago March 2012
personally i dont appreciate this kind of cars, what is the difference comparing to replicas, but vice-versa is different, others chassis with ferrari powered engines like spices, sauber, and now the red bull, the hearth is more important, it gives life.
Rumor has it that Model Factory Hiro are working on a Lotus 79 in 1/12th scale along with a BRM H16 in 1/20th scale. Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2012-Chicago March 2012
A couple of photos from AIRTRAX of future 1/24th projects: Lancia B20 and FIAT 1500. You might notice the Merc under the Lancia also. Nice looking, but remember they are unfinished masters. The final product will look much better. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo 2012-Chicago March 2012 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

hi tom, you know why factory hiro has stopped their releases of 1/24 f1 cars after the 312f'69? dead end for 1/24 collectors ferraris f1 cars.
Well they had a chance to help kill off the silly 1/20th scale for F1 cars only, but decided not to. Now its to late with all the Japanese plastic kits that have come out in the last few years. Its a shame to have a shelf full of 1/24th sportscars and 1/20th F1 cars. It really is Tamiya's fault since back in the 1970's they decided they had to have batteries in all their F1 models. They could not fit them in the P34 if they made it in 1/24th scale do they sized it and came up with 1/20th scale. What a stupid reason to screw up F1 scales forever. You have 1/43rd F1 and sportscars, and 1/12th F1 and sportscars, even the diecast people have enough sense with 1/18th sportcars and F1. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo 2012-Chicago March 2012 P.S. The Tamiya F1 story is fact, and came from a retired Tamiya engineer. Ask Motoi of Hapico if its true.
Then was it not so that Tamiya did not choose to have batteries and electric motors in their kits and by themselves chose the scale to fit these in their F1 kits, but that japanese tax treatment for toys with electric motors was much milder than for static kits? This would also be why so many japanese kits even in 1/24 came with electric motors.
Tamiya likes to start its own new scales for whatever reason. They tried 1/18th scale back in the late 1960's and 1/20th for F1 cars in the 1970's. Now they have started 1/48th scale for tanks. I find it annoying. Here are more photos of the Hiro 250TDF, 250SWB early and 330LMB. The TDF does look better in the new pictures as does the 250SWB . We will all have to see it in the flesh to make a judgement. Hiro has also announced a 1/20th Tyrell 006 kit. 250gt tdf with opaque rear lights instead of transparent ones? it don't looks like hiro style or it's only a prototype.
hah i remenber, it did studio 27 also, i had built their kits, they started to make a series of 1/24 resin ferraris f1 cars from 1995 to 1996 and they stopped and turn to 1/20, may be is the market demand?
I received the 1/12 scale 643 transkit. It comes with a ton of parts and changes to the original build sequence from Tamiya: Of the 56 steps in the construction guide, 31 will be changed. There are parts for everything, engine, cooling systems, monocoque, wings to body work. There is even a spray template for the Goodyear logo on the tires. And of course lots of new decals. They did a thorough job, which is also why it cost about $ 400. I found it on France's ebay. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like a great model that could be made into a museum quality piece. Just take your time and make us proud!! Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2012-Chicago March 2012
Well, 250 SWB DOES look better! Looks like they re-tooled quite a bit of it as well. TdF looks terrific. Can't wait!
New 1/24th FX transkit for the Tamiya Testarosso kit. Have no idea the brand name since I found it on ebay. It builds one of the strange special's made for a middle east customer. Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2012-Chicago March 2012 Image Unavailable, Please Login
