    Goodmorning all,

Let me first introduce myself i am erik from the Netherlands and i have a question about the roof of the 355 GTS.
My father owns a F355 GTS F1 and loves it but wants to sell it because when he is driving the car he has to drive it with the top on or leave the top at home because he can't drive it safely with the roof behind the seats .
Now i know that there is a foldable targa top for the 348 but would like to know if there is somthing like that for the 355 as would hate to see it go .

    Hope someone can help

    Regards Erik

Its an interesting question, I am in a similar position, at 6'5", when I take the roof off it moves the seat a bit too far forward.
I can drive it ( mine is an F1, so dont have knee/steering wheel bash issue ), but I look daft & I really am not comfortable at all, so generally only go out with the roof off when its a quick blast & there is no rain chance, so I can leave the panel at home.
I had the same thought, How can go out for a spin & leave the targa panel at home? ...I am sure I could bash together a simple 'emergency' roof made of some sort of material for when a cloud errupts that would suffice to get me back etc, and save me having to take the roof about.
I wonder if such a thing has already been invented?...

i never placed the top behind the seats on my GTS, always left it at home
so i know where your dad is coming from.

i would be alllll over a fold-able top or something similar for winter use

There are several threads about this mythical item - they exist but are rare as hen's teeth - try a search on '355 folding roof'

Did a search, very odd is all I can say. Yes it appears there is 'one' and only 'one'in existence, 'one' that didnt fit but actually it did and then the whole thread just prattles on about how he has the only one, had been searching for 5 yrs etc etc..not really much use in trying to locate such an item to be honest, and really nothing else of any real interest comes up in the search thread, no pictures of any, no contact details of any, it really is not of great interest to search, as what has gone before is really uninformative.
Surely if there is such a thing there must be more info somewhere?

Surely if you want to know if it has already been invented its a little bizarre to then comment that that information is uninformative ?

Alright apologies for my phrasing, wasnt criticizing your recommendation to search, was purely adding that the search didnt really lead to any great info on help with acquiring said item or any info on it ie what it looked like, how it fitted etc
But yes I could of put that better..it seems odd that if a few did exist and even had a part no that there would be so little reference to them...mystical indeed

Yeah no behind the seat storage for me either.

I think you end up damaging leather and the roof stuffing it back there.

I have one of these for my FFR cobra. It is a great product. High quality. I would think something similar to this could be made and stored in the trunk in case of rain. Heck, the people that make these may want to expand their business into the 355 world. They are really nice and very customer service oriented.

Hey all: I just came across this thread. Yes, there is a very rare factory offered folding soft top for 348 and 355 GTS. It folds up as the photos show, and has a black vinyl bag where it can be stored on the small shelf behind the seats. However, while similar, they are different for 348 and 355. That's because the latches are at the front on a F355, and the rear on a 348. How do I know? I have one that the original owner of the car purchased from the factory in 1995, and it was included when I purchased the car. It also has a Rosso Corsa painted removable roof panel. And, while I've only seen 1, there was also an aftermarket company making a tinted plexiglass roof panel for 308s, 348s, and 355s. But, I don't have any info, and it's been many years since I saw them.
