Thank you all for welcoming me to FerrariChat and for your advice on contacting Wayne.

Do any of you happen to know of any Ferrari documentaries?

A few months back i sent Wayne an email asking for some info and records on a 308 and he answered personally the next day with all the info he had. I was surprised he took the time for me as i'm sure he is a very busy guy. Just shows he's a stand up person, and one i respect and admire.

Wayne is a true car guy, and as enthusiastic about cars as he is down to earth. I met him years ago before the show came along, and talking to him about cars was like talking to myself in the mirror - he just gushes with passion and will talk to anyone about anything car-related. He really knows his stuff too. I have his e-mail address as [email protected].

Welcome Jon. Glad to have you here. Would love to hear more about your restoration project.

As for Ferrari Documentaries, there are a ton. Let me start by throwing two out there off the top of my head:

Victory By Design: Ferrari (hosted by Alain DeCadenet) - still available as a DVD for purchase from many websites.

Biography on CNBC: Enzo Ferrari - I beleive this is still being repeated in the U.S. - check your listings.

Isn't one of the producers of the show a member here, as well?

I know its cut, but that 400i makes a great looking open car.

His show (Chasing Classic cars) and Wheeler Dealers are the two best car shows on TV right now. Love how he's solid and grounded yet able to hang at the most prestigious auctions as well as cruise around in a basic Mustang.

Every time i see that old guy at his shop working distributors and setting dwell i wish my car could get his treatment.

Speed needs to learn from these shows instead of another NASCAR program they'd do well to make shows like Wayne's and others found on HDT.

+1, Speed is a complete waste of time and money, they don't even carry WRC anymore, unfortunately they have F1 so I have have to buy the stupid Sport bundle...

I like Wayne's show too - but it seems he rarely makes a profit on the cars that are auctioned on the show. He must make a profit on other items, but they seem to showcase auctions that didn't go well, or cars that were sold very cheaply with no reserve.

I always come to the same conclusion however I think his business model must be based on high volume with a quick turn. Always carries an extensive selection of cars.

    Those two shows are fantastic.

Same here-- Speed is a waste. NASCAR central. I wish HD Theater would buy the F1 contract, then I would be done with Speed.

I also enjoy watching Wayne's CCC, and Wheeler Dealers. What's my car's worth is nice too although they suffer from the same method same questions, etc applyed to different cars, but its not too bad. My favourite show of all times was one where over the course of several shows this UK guy restores something, cars, bikes, etc. really cool. sorry for not remenbering the guy's name or the show's name. as far as DVDs, the "Victory by Design" series was the ultimate DVD. I have them all. Fantastic stuff to watch on a rainny nigth enjoying some wine in good company.

I do as well. I constantly find myself watching it whenever it is on, even if it's a rerun.

Good to hear. I've always wondered if his t.v. personality would be similar to his real persona. He seems like a real standup guy on t.v. :)

Chasing Classic Cars is so good that my girlfriend, who has so little interest in cars she once asked me why my car has three pedals, absolutely loves his show.
