TAZ, I have tried to disengage the alarm and start the car using the key with the original PIN. The Ferrari dealer tried (when I was going to them) and my new tech tried. to no avail. The original PIN in the manual just dosen't work. The one fob I have will do it. I have a new set of keys and fobs, can anything be done short of buying a new ECU which is what Ferrari wanted to sell me?

Ferrari keeps a record of when a new PIN was issued and all come from Maranello. You might see if your dealer can check with them. Otherwise your only options are to clone the working fob you have once or twice, or buy a complete set of anti-theft boards that come with a matched set of three fobs, like the dealer said. That should be ~$1900 for the parts. The fobs are already matched to the new boards (ECU and immobilizer).

I assume you mean you have a new set of fobs and a new PIN from Ferrari? Only trouble is they may have already changed their records to reflect the new fobs and PIN they sent you.

I never send a set of fobs to anybody until they can start the car with the PIN. Otherwise, it is just a wasted effort and extra postage.

I'll check with the salesman again and explain the situation. See if he can find any record of the change of the PIN. He's the one who told me he would get me the other keys and fobs so I don't think his agenda is the same as mine. Can the working fob I have be used to clone the new fobs I bourght?

Affirmative, your new fobs can be cloned to your working fob.

That's what I was hoping for.
    What's the next step?

I send you a private message with the cloner's contact info and he can clone as many of your extra fobs as you like. After cloning, just make sure you rotate the fobs on a weekly or so basis. The fobs use a rolling code like a garage door opener. If you use only one for a long period of time, it may take a bunch of times activating the fob before a rolling code is transmitted that the Alarm ECU will accept. Would be better to rotate them on a daily basis, but that is a pain.

Terry, I've noticed this behaviour on the fob I cloned, the way around it is to press it three times within 10 seconds, this forces the ECU to recognise it even if it is way behind its expected rolling code.
