Yeah, but this is a Canadian dealer like I mentioned.

Take the US price, tack on $30 shipping, plus $40 broker fees, then add on HST, plus delay, etc.

Works out to pretty much the same and then if there's a problem you can't really return it.

Plus most online places are saying they can't get it, I had mine within 3 days.

Hi everyone.. was checking/poking around ebay today and MAY, I repeat.. MAY have found another alarm module that we can use. Our alarm modules are made by Bosch in Australia and have the characteristic look and pin input... this one MAY fit.. I HAVE NOT TRIED IT OUT! so naturally am unsure if will work. But, it is a Bosch product and if it looks liek a duck.. it may be a duck.. There is one on ebay now for 100 bucks..

    Volvo Part Number 8637399
    On Cars:
    s60 2001 - 2009
    s80 1999 - 2006

Used part via Ebay UK looks about 45 pounds. New Part for various new parts websites is about 244 bucks.. IF it works doesn't quite appear to be a cost effective as GM part new.

Don't forget the Euro GM duck does not have the same quack as the US GM duck

ie the Opel/Vauxhall siren does not plug & play replace the Ferrari in Europe whereas the Corvette unit does in the US

Been busy with a ton of crap that's not producing $!!!

Appears there are slight differences in the alarm circuits.

I would believe the siren circuit is all the same. Ford Escorts use this part as well.

I think issues the 360/430 guys are experiencing is the manner in which the alarm ECU addresses the siren, but I can't be sure.

I'll try to find one of these and compare the circuits.

True True.. Just thought I'd convey the findings.. I expect some differences in the alarm logic. i.e. GM part wailing when you disconnect it..

Euro alarms are not allowed to chirp.

I would be the module is the same worldwide but that the manner in which it is addressed is different.

I doubt that Bosch would make versions of this; it is possible but doubtful.

Greg- Every country in Europe is different in that repect. That is why there are country-specific Anti-Theft Board Kits. The only countries that don not chirp are The Netherlands and Switzerland.

Also if you read a little further down in that GMPartsDirect.com entry there is an asterisk and it says the part number has been changed and they will ship that if you order it. The other two references have no problem with the part number and 456/550 owners have been taking delivery of sirens recently.

Looks like the Volvo siren has only 3 connector pins, while the GM part has 6 in two parallel rows of 3, if I am not mistaken...

The Volvo part #8637399 crosses with the SKU number W0133-1853376. Just google the W0133-1853376 and you will find many online suppliers that sell it for about $180-200.
Although, I doubt that this model will be compatible, someone should try it...
    Good luck!

I own this car now and bled the brakes the other night. I noticed the little grey block on the brake fluid reservoir but didn't give it much thought. Now I know. :)
