I think Stefano Domenicali needs to go too, at least by season's end.

Car design was far too conservative so its a good first step...Stefano and Felipe will (hopefully) be the next to say "Ciao".....

P.S. Pat Fry is the new Tech Director-so much for the arguement that Luca wants only Italians running the show...

Pat's Wikipedia entry has also been updated already!

According to that, most recently he did the MP4-20, 22 & 24 - Not a bad resume.

Whether he'll be a real improvement is an open question, but I guess they had to do something, and maybe Aldo was the fall guy?

    Cheers,
    Ian

According to autosport Pat Fry is only the chassis director and all the dept heads will report directly to Stefano. What Ferrari really needed at this point was to have this clown be technical director in addition to the stellar job being done as team principal.

Congrats to Pat....Ferrari hasn't had a great car since 08; 09 was a dog, last year was not bad but not a front runner, and this year's stinks for reasons they can't fathom. Slow and clueless does not lead to F1 success....

LOL! Felipe too? How far back was Alonso? He got lapped. Lets fire him too. Nice try. The drivers are not the issue.

You realize that Pat Fry is the chassis director, and Stefano has now taken over the technical director position right.

I don't think any cars Aldo Costa designed was actually good, or even dominating. IIRC, the first car he designed was either the F2005 or the 248. Nothing close to the F399-F2004.

Well, hopefully Ferrari will start turning things around soon. I'm tired of 'we're focusing on next season' excuse.

Ferrari has had and continues to have a wind tunnel calibration problem. This results in the car acting differently than what has been determined in the wind tunnel. When you add the lack of testing opportunity, you get a team that is showing up with "good" numbers from the tunnel and a car that does not perform. I would guess that the wind tunnel falls under the Technical Directors control and responsibility. Costa may have stepped down to focus on resolving that problem or may have been replaced due to allowing it to happen in the first place. We do not yet know where he is being redeployed within the Scuderia.

I think it is too simple to surmise that the car has not performed well enough so management gets rid of the Technical Director.

I specifically said Massa-he's lost the plot, and I used to support him.

Let's see what top teams will pick him up if he's released-I say none.

    Yaaaayy! This is great news!

I was in Monza in 2005 to watch Ferrari finish, what was it, 5th and 7th, or 7th and 9th, whatever, it was embarrassingly bad.

I´ve always thought that they hired Pat Fry to put him in charge. You just don´t hire such a top guy like Fry to assign him in a secondary role. I suppose that they were going to demote Aldo Costa at the end of the season to make the transition easier but bad results forced the move earlier.

Felipe is an issue. Get Kobayashi or Rosberg in that car.

FA got lapped. Both got lapped and quite easily at that. Domencali HOPES Pirelli alter the hard tire the car is so bad with it. He has also said Ferrari owe both, BOTH its drivers a better car.

FA made Massa look like a joke last race. Massa made himself look like a joke. I know you're a FA hater but it's just the facts...it's time for Massa to go.

Kobayashi earned points in the **** Sauber...
