    I still believe condenser is single biggest factor in cooling. Yes, this is assuming your comp/expansion valve/dryer/etc etc is up to spec. Thing with these retrofits usually was that the much more efficient R12 DIDNT need a larger more efficient condenser. They were smaller. R134a is a different animal. Anywaym, Im no expert, just my opinion.

    Found the Leak,on the Discharge side on the Compressor the fitting was loose,all checked out put a drop of loctite on the threads pulled vacum,recharged,now blowing cold air again Luckily my neighbor had R-12,Gonna keep my fingers crossed,now my Daughter wont sweat to Graduation.Thanks for all the help everyone!

    Wow, cool. Good thing you had a neighbor with an EPA license. Also, you were real lucky that the leak was at an easy spot, as if it was in the evap, big project, usually. Hope that needle didnt move when you tested the vac.
