Anyone that might be considering this car the description does not tell the whole story. The interior is fully upgraded with carbon fiber, no bolster wear marks anywhere I found one crack in the leather about an inch by the driver headrest. The interior needs a complete clean and scrub it is very dirty .

Car has no records at all, no tool kit , one set of keys, no manuels, no spare wheel. It has a x-ost exhaust system that has lost its shinny stainless look but is very aggressive sounding. The cats are present and owner stated they were gutted?

Car has front end scrapes underneath front spoiler that is normal, Has the cheap aftermarket gel Ferrari badges that need to be removed, Has about 1/2 the tread gone on the tires. The brake calipers originally were silver but were painted yellow by previeous owner and is chipping off and is faded.

The body condition is as follows:

Right rear area on upper fender about the size of a thumb a scrape throught the clear coat, misc. surface scratches that can be remeadied by a good paint correction and buff. Driver side under mirror paint has very small paint bubbling nothing major. Driver door black door trim around window needs to be repainted as it is peeling. lower air intakes both sides are a mess and need to be repainted looks like it was driven on stone roads. Many other misc. scatches around the car that will need repaint. Engine bay is pretty dirty. no visible leaks, Front light covers need to be reconditioned as they are cloudy and have debris in them. No visual hint of body work and nothing on the car fax to make any assumption. Wheels need a light refinish no major curb rash on any one wheel just light scratches.

    Mechanically:

I heard the car run and go through its warm up no lights came on. When I arrived the owner did not know I was there he had the garage door down, and I heard the cold start and it was rough and then once it ran for 3 minutes it was running normally. I did not drive the car weather was crappy. Brakes appear to be in need of pads and the rotors are fairly rutted. Definitely will need to be measured. No clue on the F1 it did go into gear forward and reverse. All lights work. forgot to check the air conditioning owner stated it worked.

The current owner is a real nice guy and buys bank siezed cars and resells them. This car is a potential money pit for the unsuspecting and you could easily sink 20k into it. He wants to move the car but it will be difficult to move especially with better examples out there that are reasonably priced and have service history to back the mileage. The car will need a engine service based on no records, potential brake job, and quite a bit of cosmetic work to get the body and interior in order. Could be a good option for a mechanic or someone not concearned with driving a rough looking car for a daily driver once corrected. It looks great from a far but far from great. I would consider it for about 12k less than what he wants to get it in order.

Also it was a lease car and a recent bank repo and sat for some time so the owner before was a deabeat so you have to assume no services were done on it at all. Car fax shows multiple owners and a lease vehicle.

Vin number is ZFFYR51A7X0116918 CHASIS NUMBER 34276

I would rather pay more for a known good car. Service records, loving owner, needs nothing, all has value in my book.

looks like a heck of a bargain IMO. I hope a forum member can go take a look, possibly walk away with a steal. just get a PPI done. Only thing that would really scare me is the transmission going bad

I agree with rmani, sounds like a deal for someone who doesn't mind getting his/her hands a little dirty.

It doesn't look too bad in the picts. They are from far away and very small (probably for a reason). Nonetheless if you are looking for a driver- actually never mind..... spend $70 and get a clean one with records, history, service. I don't think you could ever make this one nice. just my .02

you're telling me you wouldn't take a chance on that car for 50k even (assuming the seller would take it and it passed a PPI, with specific focus on checking out the f1 tranny)???

Based on what I can see (from an Ebay ad) it seems like a very good deal. There is probably a couple thousand in wiggle room in the guys price. $55k buy it.

Those that think this is a good deal, go for it. Personally I agree with the OP. This looks like a LOT of work and/or a money pit. You will end up over 70 in a flash so why do all the extra work?

Personally, I don't like silver so that alone is a non-starter.

his bottom line is $56500 the photos make it look awesome but in person it is rough at least compared to everything I looked at in that 60 to 70k range. The problem here is that someone unsuspecting looking to buy thier dream will buy this car and be ruined once they realize they have a money pit. or maybe he gets lucky chance are it will be the later.

You are going to get what you pay for with these cars. There is going to be a reason why a car is priced 25% lower than retail. I don't see the point in checking such a car out, then berating it - all of this should have been expected for the price.

I agree with those whose philosophy is to purchase the best car you can afford. For $55 grand buy a nice 355.

I suspect you can buy that, and then do what is needed, and have piece of mind. Sure you can spend more, but you will spend more and may not have all the things done and still have to do some things. catch 22

oh wait. The owner was a deadbeat? Didnt Kevin Federline have the same color one lol

I just want to clarify the deadbeat owner was the guy before the person who owns it now who buys exotic bank repo cars.

I was not berating the car I was merely providing some information for a potential buyer. Of all the cars in the 60 to 70k range by far this was the roughest the other cars had history and you knew pretty much what you were getting into. Most the major was due in 1 to 2 years. There was another one e-bay that I looked at that was much better sold for 58,900 the body was in excellent shape 6 speed manual interior fair normal bolster wear, with records and a major due next year. Sold before I could buy.

IF anyone is seriously considering this car, make sure you have a proper PPI done in advance. I seem to recall this car making it's way around the wholesale market and having "frame damage" issues. I'm not disputing the fact that the car is cheap, but as a few other people have mentioned... there's probably reasons for the price. Many of us also know that a cheap car can (and often does) cost more than an average priced car in the long run!

I would get a PPI and the car if I wanted a steal on a 360 but my BMW M3 is faster so would not be worth it. I am looking at F430 or 458 Italia at this point if I get a Ferrari.

Pat, I really enjoy this kind of thread and believe it to be very helpful to the Ferrari buying public. It is a service to Fchat. Most of us would see this car for what it is. At the same time, it would be a travesty for someone to buy this car and not really have the money on hand to do what it will need. That could ruin the whole Ferrari experience.

Really?? An M3 faster than a 360??? Who are you racing that lets an M3 beat him??? I assume the M3 has been chipped or modded in some way? Ive been on track in 360's before and no M3 driver ever got close to me!!
