    Hi, guys:

    I'm asking y'all for a favor and it is not for me. It's for the guys who attend my wife's school: it's doing something nice for people who cannot do for themselves. Mr. Glickenhaus said this is the best place to ask.

    My wife works at Innovation Institute in Duncanville, TX (a tad south of Dallas), a school for wheelchair people:
    * disabled combat veterans
    * motorcyclists
    * anyone who has been disabled and must be in a wheelchair
    Innovation Institute teaches people in wheelchairs to work in automotive repair shops. They are trained to inspect and diagnose problems with cars as they come into the shop. Here's the video: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdogRXh15BU[/ame]

    This Saturday, May 28, the Institute is graduating their first class. The graduation starts at 11:00 a.m. and will end before noon.

    I'd like to ask y'all with Ferraris (or any other exotic: this is a Ferrari board, but I am not prejudiced!) just drive them to Innovation Institute by 12 noon on Saturday and stick around for a little. You don't have to attend the graduation! :) Just arrive at 12;:00 noon, let the students be photographed with the cars, and just talk shop with fellow car enthusiasts. And make no doubt about it, these students are car enthusiasts!

    A Ferrari showing up at their graduation would really lift their spirits!

    Can anyone come?

    Sincerely,

    Jacob Potts

    That's a great idea and I would love to be able to help, but I live in Plano. So it's a little too far for my participation. Good luck and thanks for making the effort for these folks.

    Bummer; if this was in Colorado I’d drive and rally as many troops as I can; i have a disabled daughter and I know how much they'd appreciate showing up.

    Need to put this thread in the TX region

    Two problems for me:

    1. It's far away.
    2. It's a Holiday weekend.

    Good luck! I know of one F-Chatter that lives in Duncanville.

    Dear sir:

    This thread is in the Texas region subforum. Isn't it? I checked the header and it says "FerrariChat.com > regional Areas - USA West > Texas"

    Or did I do it wrong?

    Thanks,

    Jacob Potts

    I totally forgot to say what my wife does at the Innovation Instittute! Duh!

    My wife is not in a wheelchair. She is not a student. She is the school's secretary. In this photo, she is standing in the back row, second to the right.

    The Innovation Institute's founder and director, Harrold Andreesen (center, back row), instructors, support staff, and four of the students are also pictured.

    If my Ferraris were available I would sure love to help....

    Ironically, they are all in need of repair!

    Have you asked the Dallas area dealerships??

    I also agree many have already booked travel for the weekend, but i am just hanging around at the pool.

    Well I was slow on the uptake here and without my Ferrari. Not winning.
