I agree, I updated my Desire HD about 2 weeks ago and it feels like a new phone.

If I can snag a minute this weekend, I'm upgrading to the Samsung Charge... that camera is seriously addictive. (not to mention 4G) Looking forward to Ginger too.

I had this update on my D2 a few weeks ago and it was AWESOME, and seriously fast. I broke it and got a new one that I haven't rooted yet and now I have to wait for it to trickle down to the D2... :(

I suspect it won't be too long now that the X has it.

I still can't believe how quick everything is with Ginger now!

I got a Barnes and Noble Nook Color for my wife that I set up with CM7, which is Honeycomb, IIRC. It's pretty awesome.

I was an IPhone user to, recently switxhed to Android, HTC incredible S, but I can't get the gingerbread upgrade as my phone is from another carrier.

I'm thinking of rooting it but haven't decided which Rom to go with, so many out there. Anyone have a suggestion?

Just updated my Evo to gingerbread last night. So far, I can't tell much of a difference.

I can't give you any first hand experience with any of the Roms as I have not yet attempted to put any of those on my DroidX. I'm waiting for my 1 year warranty to run out... after that I plan on trying several.

Cyanogenmod is considered THE benchmark ROM and is compatible with a wide list of phones. You should check out their website and see if your phone is supported.

If that one is not compatible, I'm sure there are many others that are compatible w/ your Phone.

Is this a root update, correct?

I didn't think gb came out officially yet?

Anyway I picked up the thunderbolt Sunday. Other than the battery this phone flies compared to my D1. I'll probably upgrade the battery. Just read mugen released a 4500mAh battery for it.

Gingerbread has been officially released by google for quite some time... at this point it is up to the phone manufacturers and the networks to do whatever they want to gingerbread first and then push it out to the individual phones.

GB is official on my Droid X and several other phones across different networks and manufacturers.

IIRC, HTC has not yet released an official GB Rom for the Thunderbolt.

    Thanks.

I did just read that its rumored to be out shortly and some of the delay is to fix the battery issue.

So I took the plunge into custom ROMs last night with my Droid X. I'm currently running APEX v2 RC1.

It is quite amazing what this phone is capable of when all of the **** that motorola forces onto it's customers is stripped away and you are able to install more effective and efficient alternatives.

I might be hooked guys... there are atleast 3 or 4 other custom ROMs available for my phone right now... might just have to try them all.

The incredible S is locked, with some new factory tech. I have to get someone with a special dongle to unlock it first before I do a root.

From what I know the Thunderbolt was the last of the HTC phones not to have this new lock. The dongle called the XTC Clip is pretty expensive, but there is a guy in my city that will do it for a small fee.

I love the HTC but this is stupid. All the bloatware they preinstall drives me nuts.
