I purchase my 02 360 and when they delivered my car they lost the remote . I didnt know how big is this problem ... I order immediately remote set and pin code from Ferrparts , they told me it will take up to 8 weeks to get it and after 8 weeks they told me that it can be another month or three to get them ... So im very disappointed and sad I dont know what to do , when I call my local dealer ( continental Ferrari Chicago ) they told me that there is no way to retrieve the pin code and order just remotes and I have to get the alarm kit which is $2500 and this kit is in back order and the soonest we can get it is end of june ( 2 months ) . Please help me I realy dont know what to do .

what do you mean ..."lost the remote" ?
you should have gotten 3 (1 red, 2 black)

are you saying that you don`t have a single remote fob now and that you just bought a car that you cannot drive at all now... ? ;)

a new set of three fobs and PIN does you no good unless you have the ORIGINAL pin !

they "should" try to get the ORIGINAL pin from Ferrari in Maranello - then you would only need the set with new pin and three matching remote fobs

if they can not (or do not want to do that)...yes...then you also need the new alarm ecu

waiting for Terry (tazandjan) and others to chime in with some creative idea ... ;)

You have three options as I see it.

    1) Provided the alarm ecu and immobilizer are original, get the pin from Ferrari North America. Enter it with the key as Taz describes and disable the door ajar switch in your drivers door for the time being. Then order a new fobs and match them to the system. ( read somewhere that the pin is the last 4 #'s of the serial.. Others say not so)

    2) order a new immobilizer and fobs, wait and install them

    3) go to ebay and search for immobilizer and alarm and if a set come up with the fobs get them, and install.

I do hope your dealer you bought the car from will help you out.

If you had a car delivered without any remotes surely you are entitled to return it for a full refund since effectively it is not a car as you cannot use it

In fact what sort of dealer leaves the customer to sort this out ?

That is a really expensive planter right now. About your only option is the deep end one, with a new alarm set that includes an Alarm ECU, immobilizer, PIN, and three matched fobs with the master fob's PIN already in the Alarm ECU. Should cost around $1500-2000 from a dealer. Good luck. Plus you will have to provide all kinds of proof of ownership or they will not sell you one. Will come from Maranello, so may take a while.

Mine came with all the fobs but no alarm code. I spoke to the Service manager at the dealer and he asked me to send him a copy of my drivers license and title and he would request the code from FNA who have to get it from Ferrari. I hope there is not a charge to do this as the original owner had already requested it but as the vehicle changed hands my dealer said it was best to start from scratch.
My question is if the code is available to a bona fide owner and you have the red fob, why not get two black fobs cheap off eBay and clone them? Much less expensive than getting new fobs and codes from Ferrari.

There is a cost (about $500) but your dealer may or may not charge you. If the title has any lien holders on it you will need a release letter (most have no mechanism to generate a letter like that so you are stuck). When you get the code it may or may not work (mine didn't work) and the dealer takes no responsibility for it. You pay your money and spin the wheel.

Alan- Cloned fobs are duplicates of the one fob you have. Same fob ID, same rolling code sequence. You need to rotate those cloned fobs' use or the rolling codes in the fobs get quickly out of synch and it will take multiple (as many times as you used the other fob) depressions of the button to get to a code the Alarm ECU has not seen before.

As long as you are methodical, no problem. The original matched set of fobs have their own ID and rolling code sequences, so any of the fobs can be used at any time with no problems.

Skidkid is right on. Call the dealer back and verify the documentation request so they don't waste your time. Ferrari will also require a front/back copy of the title. If you have a lienholder, you need a letter from the bank on their letterhead referencing your VIN and authorizing a duplicate key to be made. Authorized signor must also state their title.

They should furnish you a pre-printed handout outlining the requirements.

Exactly this... I have just been to the main dealer here in Dubai to order my code, they've relieved me of $490 with no guarantee that the code will work - it's an expensive gamble!
