+1 I'm gonna assume he made a typo - Meant to say Turkey? Damn, Silverstone just spent millions getting up to "Bernie level" after all. Cheers, Ian
- Was not a typo... Silverstone is a sub par circuit even after the so called upgrades. - Most sporting events based out of the UK are very unwelcoming to international spectators.
Okay, so they add more races, but they still have that STUPID month-long summer break...I hate that! Make the off-season longer so the teams have more time to prepare the next year's cars.
Agreed. I cannot stand the month long summer break. I get the teams probably need the time off since they spend some very long stretches away from home, but how about taking those four weeks and spreading them out over the season. I know I'd personally enjoy 4 weeks off spread out over the season as opposed to all at once. Mark
The summer break is a sign that there may be too many races already. Too many races being held at unfavorable times for their locales as well.
Wow! Tell us what you really think The drivers love it, it's fast, overtaking is somewhat possible and it has a history. Further, the facilities have eventually lurched into this century with the new pit complex. Even getting in & out is much improved over the "old days".... I guess you had a bad experience?..... Sorry 'bout that, but I think you're making a very sweeping statement there - As Steve asked, care to expand? Cheers, Ian
The "summer break" actually has nothing to do with the F1 schedule. Many parts of Europe shut down for the entire month of August. It is in the good spirit of tradition and family values that the teams all agreed to honor the holiday month to spend time with their families.
Granted but in that F1 is in the entertainment business you'd expect them to continue operating during vacation time. They had no problem doing so in past years.
