Bernie announced this morning that despite his wishes Bahrain will not be held. Seems that the teams and commercial interests "forced his hand".

"Against our wills Papa, against our wills!!"

    W/ apologies to Misters G&S

Bernie already has his cash, no need to bother. All exceptionally good news. ;)

Apparently the organizers in India were getting very unhappy over their delayed GP and exerted pressure on Hernie Bekelston.

There's all kinds of good to come of it if JT stuffs Bernie into a barrel and tosses him off of the Niagara Falls.

Bernie needs someone or something to keep him from the worst of his excesses;)

For too long the pendulum was been on the commercial side. IMO JT is bringing a bit of balance (dare I ay sanity?) to F1.

LOL aye, but at the min I make it one in the eye to Todt, the fall guy being, FIA man Carlos Gracia.

Article 66 of the International Sporting Code states that: “No amendments shall be made to the Supplementary Regulations after the beginning of the period for receiving entries, unless unanimous agreement is given by all competitors already entered, or by decision of the stewards of the meeting for reasons of force majeure or safety”. This is clearly not the case.

    Stung by there own rules.

Bernie is as mad as a March hare, but I wouldn't like to bet against him....;)

    Sanity and F1...now your asking.

We're looking at some major changes in how F1 is run in a short while. Its a big pot of gold that's up for grabs and the machinations have begun.

    +1

IIRC, hasn't JT already "questioned" the validity of 100 year deal Mad Max gave the pygmy?

Engine changes, rule tweaks, blah, blah - The commercial rights deal is the one JT's after.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

Yes he has. There is a provision about the best interests of the sport in that agreement.
With the Concorde expiring and News Corp. nosing about the winds of change are brewing.
    That being said remember that its all about the money and while common sense may not prevail common interests should ;

Ahh - The good old "best interests of the sport" clause..... Conversely, "bringing the sport into disrepute" is another powerful tool. ;)

+1 Yep, I have high hopes that JT has now solidified his power base. As an ex team-principal he (hopefully?) has a more balanced and reasonable view of the commercial "arrangements" - The teams have got to get more $ and maybe News Corp. can understand that....

    Cheers,
    Ian
