I'm considering a radar detector and a Bluetooth mike in the vicinity of the r/v mirror. Do the interior trim pieces on the pillars and w/s frame simply pop off? Someone must have run wires up there for something.

When I ran wires on my '78 GTS, I took off the A pillar trim (the insert pops off and then a couple of screws). I think I ran the wires under that trim and then into the metal channel by fishing the wire out where the interior lamp is mounted. Or just tucked in by the windshield rubber. In any case, nothing is visible except where the wire emerges by the mirror.

As far as the bluetooth mic goes, forget about it...too much background noise for the person on the other end.

It's actually very simple and reversible.

    1) Pop off the ruler sized trim on the A pillar with a putty knife. Drill out 2 rivets that hold
larger A pillar trim in place.
    2) Remove 6 or 8 screws (depending on year) from sunvisor panel.
    3) Run your electrical and then replace trims.

    Good luck...Jim

Sony bluetooth stereo with external mike mounted on top of the inner trim works fine for me in my 328 GTS.When I have the roof off I have to turn the volume up but with the roof on there is no problems at all.
